Re: The Steel Family
I notice the original photo is all titanium handles. That's quite a collection. Here's an old picture of some of my stainless steel handled Spydies.

Metals and alloys
I had an idea. Can an ordinary person buy a maxamet or N690 steel ingot? How does it work, and how do I find such stores? Metals and alloys

Re: China
Sigh 😮💨 ok going to try and redirect this back to the original request by Sal. Please no politics as requested by @sal in the first post.
I have a question that has been percolating in the back of my mind. Does China have any premium, tool or super steels? Maybe @Larrin could weigh in on this ...

Re: Beautiful packaging
I was chatting with friends about how knives are packaged. Unfortunately, spy's packaging is just a cardboard box. I'm probably a "magpie," but I want a beautiful box. I have a buck, and it has a whole case. Cold steel also has a friend in a case. Chinese manufacturers put it in a purse. I ...

More. The strong point of spyderco is its history. If you create a separate model - a flagship of Chinese production, it will be very interesting again!

Re: China
I have nothing against Chinese production. Some of their knives are very good in quality. If spyderco assigns its own specialist to control quality, it will be great. I think it would be worth releasing a premium spyderco to show the level of capability of the Chinese factory - if the price is ...

Re: Z-12 Ultra mule?
Zapp "Blade Quality" knife steels. I think that this mainly means that they're grades that they already sell which have been annealed and hot rolled into sheets. This PDF has compositions in it for both "Z-Wear BQ" and "Z-12Ultra BQ".

Re: Beautiful packaging
I'm getting knives from far away, and the box, without any soft filling, doesn't guarantee the integrity of the knives.Brock O Lee wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 3:11 amI could not care less about packaging. In my view it should only be functional enough to get the knife to me undamaged.

Re: Z-12 Ultra mule?
What kind of steel are we talking about? I'm not very familiar with it. Is Z-12 steel?
