Re: Stealing of IP - Article
I think we can do without Epoch Times opinion pieces posted here. At least keep that kind of stuff in the off topic section please.
I'm not a fan of the Epoch Times myself, but the topic is still relevant to the discussion. Do you have a specific objection to the content of the article, or are ...

Re: Shelter Cove and 8CR17MOV
Where did you think a $90 knife was coming from?
Honestly this is a very strange comment. That’s a decent price for a Chinese made fixed blade from a name brand company.
It's not a strange comment at all. In the $90 range Spyderco has a lot knives that aren't made in China. As has been ...

Re: Manix 2 LW Salt / Magacut - Worth it?
It was the All Purpose RIT dye. This https://www.amazon.com/Impex-Rit-Purpose-Liquid-236ml/dp/B0089ET0W8?crid=2YQ6POFP7C10N&sprefix=green%2Brit%2Bdye%2Caps%2C127&sr=8-1&th=1 is the exact one I used.

Re: Manix 2 LW Salt / Magacut - Worth it?
For those of you who have successfully dyed FRCP, what dyes did you use? I tried with a standard RIT dark green dye. It dyed the FRN scales of a Salt 2 almost instantly, but an hour in the dye didn't touch the yellow FRCP scales on the Manix 2.

Re: Manix 2 LW Salt / Magacut - Worth it?
I have the yellow Manix 2 Salt LW. I really don't like the yellow handle at all and don't carry the knife as a result. I think that color could work on a smaller knife like a dragonfly, but on a big, wide, knife like the Manix, it's just too much. I also learned the hard way that RIT dye works on ...

Re: Endela inspired Salt
I have an Atlantic Salt that I received due to a shipping error. I like everything about it except the blade shape. Getting the Atlantic Salt made me realize that a nice sharp point is an absolute must for me in a knife. If an Atlantic Salt came out with a wharncliffe, leaf-shape, or standard ...

Re: Salt 2 <> Delica 4 Blade Swap??
Thanks for the detailed reply! That was the nudge I needed to pull the trigger. I don't mind a patina developing, I wanted know if there was a major risk of serious rust, but it sounds like the steel is manageable with a reasonable amount of care.

Re: Salt 2 <> Delica 4 Blade Swap??
@cjk - I'm definitely looking at the K390 version as well. The only thing giving me pause is that I live in New England where it's pretty humid, so I worry about rust and corrosion. That said, I'm tempted, given all the glowing reviews of K390 on this forum.

Salt 2 <> Delica 4 Blade Swap??
Currently one of my most carried Spydercos is a basic PE VG-10 Delica 4. I swapped out the FRN scales for a set of micarta scales from flytanium and I absolutely love it. Now, I really want the same thing but in SE.
The problem? All the SE Delicas are saber-ground and I really want ffg. The Salt 2 ...

Re: China
I agree with a lot of what's already been said here. I personally don't buy Chinese knives or other Chinese-made goods, to the extent possible. While I know that many Chinese manufacturers are capable of making high-quality products, I feel dirty supporting a country that has continuously engaged in ...

Re: Reveal 19 - Live!
I love all the new salts! After picking up a couple of Salt 2's over the Summer, I'm fully on team-salt.
Like others, I'm a little disappointed to see the reveal list slant so heavily toward Chinese manufacturing though, since I personally do not buy Chinese-made knives. The only reason a lot ...

phaust - where are you seeing the $160 price tag? Following your link I see the PM2 Salt DLC, but it's priced at $217.

I chose Seki city, because those are the models I like best. Here's the top few:
1. Salt 2 SE Wharncliffe
2. Dragonfly 2
3. Delica 4

Re: Any Plans for a non-lightweight Chaparral in Serrated Edge
I like the FRN scales on the lightweight Chaparral as well, it's more that almost all my Spydercos are FRN and I'm looking to change it up a bit. I didn't see much in the way of after market scales for the Chaparral, but it's something I'm open to if I can find a place that has some.

Any Plans for a non-lightweight Chaparral in Serrated Edge
After reading a lot of posts about the topic on this forum and picking up my first serrated edge folder, a Salt 2 Wharncliffe, I'm an SE convert. I was looking at the Chaparral recently and noticed that SE only seems to be available on the lightweight FRN version, which is a shame, given the ...

I liked the serrated version of the Wharncliffe Salt 2 so much, I decided to pick up the plain edge version.

Re: Wharncliffe Delica interest
I bought my first wharncliffe a few weeks ago, a Salt 2 serrated edge in lc200n. It hasn't left my pocket since. I love the wharncliffe shape for an EDC knife, and would love to see more options come out, though it feels like I may have missed the wharncliffe boom of a few years ago :)
