Re: Out of stock on purpose

Although Spyderco offers a significant discount to military, I believe they purposely do not stock their most popular production models so that veterans cannot benefit from the discount. They would sell too many at a discount. That’s why there isn’t a single black knife on their website that’s in ...

Re: Whats with all the fakes on ebay?

I would never knowingly buy a counterfeit, even if the build quality is, or seems to be good, just out of principle. Not only that; even if a counterfeit seems to be great, I still wouldn't be able to trust it like the actual product. They could say that the fake one is such-and-such steel, and ...

Re: Para 3 LW handle va Para 3 G10 handle

I have both and prefer the G10. I actually took the Magnacut blade from the FRN Salt and put it in G10 to get the Para3 I wanted. After putting the S45N blade in the FRN I started using it for a truck knife and wouldn't you know it, I really like it. Honestly both have strong plusses and you ...

Re: FRN strength testament(s)

I really believe in the near future, we will see more “polymer” being used for our favorite models.

I’m not shy, so I’ll say it!

The PM 2 for example, or the Military 2.
It can be done and probably already has!

Re: Military 2 Tanto

As I'm currently waiting for a Lil' Native SE to drop, this got me pondering a possible SE version of a Mil 2 Tanto and what that may be like. I imagine it like a combo edge, with SE all along the bottom and PE for the edge near the point. It seems intriguing. Would such a thing be useful?

Yep!

I also found a vey tough burr on a new magnacut SE Para3. Now that it’s been through the sharp maker a few times… Bueno!
Great stuff!

Re: FRN strength testament(s)

What do you all think of the combination FRN handle scales with thermoplastic elastomer synthetic rubber inserts for better gripping that Spyderco and some other companies tried in the past? I enjoy those but the main downside for me is that unlike pure FRN, over time the rubber like material ...

Re: Whats with all the fakes on ebay?

Let's drill down a bit. Counterfeits steal the design which is the most important part of the package. Most people that buy counterfeits, know they are fake. The logic goes like this; I'll buy the fake and if I like it, then I'll buy the real ting". I've heard it many many times. And they rarely ...

Re: FRN strength testament(s)

Are the Manix equivalents made of a lesser material? I have seen a couple of YouTube videos showing how easily they crack and break.

My friend, I have been using Spyderco “plastic “ knives since the late 80’s. I used to pick them up at the PX on the base in various deployments. They work great ...

I recently lost my para 3 salt (SE). I thought. I dropped it in the driveway, my wife ran it over, then she found it and put it on the counter. 😳
There’s hardly a place that’s damaged. And it flips open fine! Pretty cool!

Re: Spyderco paramilitary CPM D2

I saw an original paramilitary with factory box and in like new condition for $230 and almost bought it but hesitated as I didn't know anything about it besides it was i think a 2010 production. Should I have bought it? It is that or a para 3 15v sprint run.
Thanks
