The question still remains about 64HRC. Yes, the powdered form has a more uniform carbide structure, however, I'm curious about what I've researched regarding 154CM. That's what I'm specifically asking about. If you can shed any light on this, please do.

154CM - 64HRC - Any Experience?
Hello all,
Most knife companies I've seen seem to underwhelm the heat treatment of 154CM. I know that it isn't used much anymore, but I am certainly curious about something here. Normally, I see it's around anywhere from 58-61HRC, but it's been reported closer to the lower end.

Re: Native 5 lw in 15v?
I think if I did buy a 15v Native, it’d just sit in its box just like my 15v PM2 does.
This is a good point. Ahh! The irony of having a great steel like 15V for ultra high edge retention, but never wanting to use it to cut anything due to its inevitable rarity and collectability!
All the ...

Re: Reveal 16 15V alert thread time?
Hi BeTheExample,
We generally don't do the "when" until we're ready to deliver. If we give a date and some glitch changes the schedule, the disappointment is challenging.
So when the item has been through QC and we're ready to ship, we get them out.

How Much Did a CPM-15V Mule Go For When It Was Available?
Hello guys, I'm curious how much did a CPM-15V mule sell for when it was available? I have the opportunity to buy a second for a decent price I think but I want to be sure before I place the order.
If anyone knows the answer to this question, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you ...

Manix 2 LWs are starting to drop
I was on the patio eating pistachios and looking at my iPad. You got me so excited that I had to run inside to my desk, so I could shop more quickly with multiple browser windows open. Alas, I didn't come across any of these knives for sale. But you can bet I ...

Re: Can We Still Acquire 154CM, D2, 440C from American Steel Companies? My Conversation with Sal
The ingot steels you listed will still be made in USA if purchased from Niagara. PM steels no viable sources in the USA currently.
Hi Larrin, thank you so much for your response. If you don't mind, I have a follow up question for you:
Regarding PM steels, not ingot, since there are no viable ...

The Native 5 has grown on me
Hello all,
Not to make this too long winded of a post, but, I believe the Native 5 has grown on me, preferably the lightweight. No, it doesn't open fast like a Manix 2 or Para 2, but it is functional. It has a strong lock back design and good ergonomics ready to work. Plus I prefer the closed back ...

Re: Para 3 4V issues
4V is a pretty tough steel so the edge shouldn’t be chipping like that from general use.
Burnt edge from grinding maybe?
It’s stability may improve with a few sharpenings but that edge is pretty badly damaged so I’d be more inclined to send it back.
I have now sharpen it 3 times on my ...

Re: CPM REX 45
Of all the FACTORY edges I've tested so far, Rex-45 and LC200N has not chipped on me. All others have. I'm not sure why, considering I don't use my knives exceptionally hard. I understand burnt edges are common but Rex-45 holds up well. LC200N was nice but lost its edge quickly after cutting some ...

Edges w/o a sharpening notch
I'm not opposed to them, but lately I've been really enjoying the fact that most, if not all, of my Spyderco knives don't have a sharpening notch. Truly, this is an amazing way to keep cutting without something getting caught in the notch or the notch gets caught and stuck on something while cutting ...

Re: Para-Manix or Lil' Manix someday?
I really like the Manix, but more despite the CBBL rather than because of, so not sure I’m up for more of those in any size. But I’d get pretty excited for a smaller sized, backlock Manix.
^This x2
I'm not a huge backlock fanboy. Out of the 8 or 9 Manix's, XL's, LW's I have the Manix 2 ...
