Re: Blade to Handle Efficiency?

This is my problem with some models. Para 3, PM2 has space for 3 mm more, Lil Temperance 3 too. Endela for example has worse handle to blade ratio than Endura, and Endura has it worse than Police 4. I guess it's because local laws about knives.

Re: More button compression locks?

I picked up a ‘Craftsman Folding Knife’ earlier this year for a work beater that has a button compression lock on it. After the patent expired, they are starting to show up more in other makers.

I haven’t been active in this community for very long, but my sense is that the button compression lock ...

There was a thread about this same topic going on here somewhere a few weeks ago. You can probably search for it and find the discussion.

Re: Fellow Construction Workers...a Question.

The Spyderco Kahr Arms Delica would give you the longer handle and shorter blade, and made with 13C26/AEB-L would be perfect.

That Kahr specs show it to be made from VG10. Good enough price point for a hard use ...

Re: Manix 2 XL - 15v

Red L.

Of all the Spyderco knives I have, don't own a single one of the Bodacious, but with how the Police 4 and the Manix 2XL fits and feels in my paws, I just wouldn't buy anything else unless it comes with a larger blade and/or a blade steel I found to be interesting.

I am always a sucker ...

Re: Fellow Construction Workers...a Question.

I work in HVAC and am frequently on construction sites, although I will not compare the work I do to doing something like concrete work. Still, my knives do see hard use.

I carry more than one knife on me. I carry a 'main' folder, for slicing tasks, a serrated edge folder, for 'gotta get through ...

Re: Manix 2 XL - 15v

I keep wanting to tell myself that I'm going to take a hiatus from spending in 2026, but that is going to be a big year for Spyderco. I became 'enlightened' this year, so it was a big year for me (personally) for getting good Spydie collection up to snuff.

I certainly wouldn't mind a Manix 2 XL in ...

Nice work Jeb! I still havent really put mine to much use outside the kitchen…but I keep looking at those blades, thinking how good they would look as a candidate for a chop and folding knife project haha.

Re: Discontinued for 2026

GRATEFUL that the Canis was not on this list, as I have yet to pick one up (but will absolutely do so), and the GB2 reminds me of a recent thread here where we speculated on a future GB3 that seem to combine the best elements of the GB1/2. But there might be hurdles as I don't think one can just go ...

Re: Match made in heaven - K390 Lil Temperance 3 and K390 Leafjumper

I have the SE K390 LJ variant on my person right now. Fantastic knife, underrated.

I would carry my K390 LT3 more but it has a weak detent and combined with the weight of the blade, it opens a little easier than I’d like. I plan to do some work on it and remedy that.

Re: Sal, anything you´d like to share on the Golden made BACKLOCK Polestar? (Another "handle forward" knife?)

Between making it overseas and making it in Golden but w/ a huge delay, my preference would be Golden of course. Not interested in new lock version still made in China.

Also, between the 3 locks, I think I would also vote for the backlock. Or...if production is pushed back a couple years, maybe it ...

'Not Made in China' haha love it. Did you custom order it and they just did the engraving and then sent it out to you? Now that I think about it, they have a cabinet there that has all sorts of custom laser engravings in there.

Maybe I should swing on by and have them put '#1 Favorite Customer' on ...

Thanks Sal for the insight on what sort of percentage the value folders make up.

Just for fun, I hopped onto a 'Chinese knife' group online to see what the latest was. Most of these knives are counterfeits and clones (Strix, Rosie, Strider, CRK, Shiro, etc), although some people post original ...

Re: China

@Sal you need to buy a few knives for research and testing. You need a base line of what your competitors are doing.

I would be really curious if maybe Spyderco is already doing this, and if they don’t have the very latest models, they should.

I don’t make the decision on China or no China ...
