Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

Thanks vivi

Yes, I’m on a phone . Will try later .

I am certain this knife will not be as robust as the Spyderco. It was a total impulse buy . I found the aesthetics and MagnaCut very appealing.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

Shopping for my new Spyderco, I ran across a Doug Ritter EXLRSK® MK1-G2 - G10 (3.44" SW MagnaCut) G-Mascus® Grn G-10 Handle . I can't figure out how to post a picture, I'm not sure if I have that privilege yet. The Spyderco Manix 2 XL is on the Christmas list.

Are there any watch lovers like me?

Seiko, omega, orient, and hamilton are some of my favorite watch brands.
longines conquest with green dial. My favorite of all time , and only automatic watch I own . I have a bunch of quartz watches, I find those very satisfying as well .

Re: Newbie, 1st Spyderco selection help

Well, after reading this thread , I’m pretty convinced the Manix2 XL is the Spyderco that will be my first Spyderco .

But…. It’s gonna have to wait til Christmas . As I was searching for my prize Spyderco, I ran across something that shouted at me and I had to have it . I won’t mention it, cause ...

Re: Newbie, 1st Spyderco selection help

Interesting . Talk to me about liners . Are they a big deal? Pros .. strength? Cons … weight?

Is there more to it than that ?

Re: Newbie, 1st Spyderco selection help

LOL, Al, not sure how you thought I might take that the wrong way. I thought it was very constructive. Thank you.

All I have now is the axis lock on my benchmade and I like it just fine . I read the cbbl was very stiff on the mannix, it’s nice to know it’s not ridiculous as some YouTubers have ...

Re: Newbie, 1st Spyderco selection help

Thanks Al, I really like the balance of toughness and edge retention on Cruware. The ability to resharpen easily is icing . I think I saw a Manix xl online last week. It’s probably gone , but I’ll be searching first thing tomorrow .

Only thing I don’t like in the Manix is that darned plastic cage ...

Appreciate it vivi . I’ve tried posting this response 3 times now and it keeps logging me off when I submit.

Re: Newbie, 1st Spyderco selection help

of the knives you're considering (and all others, in my opinion), the manix is the superior design. 204p is a good steel. forest green is a great color. nothing to lose going with that one. unless you have abnormally large hands, the manix will be comfortable in multiple grips. and unless you ...

Re: Newbie, 1st Spyderco selection help

If you like 204P/M390 you will also like S90V. If you don't care about stainless, 15V is also a good choice. This should open up your options a bit.

Newbie, 1st Spyderco selection help

Hi all , new guy here . Sitting around recovering from shoulder surgery and have become slightly obsessed with Spyderco knives . My top 3 so far are the Manix 2 with 204P steel, the shaman with CHP Steel, and the Smock with S30V.

I really like the looks of the smock

I like the steel of the Manix ...
