Re: What Type of Scales Do You Prefer Poll

Not a fan of plastic at all and have a very strong aversion to fiberglass in any form. i do like micarta, but only on fixed blades. Generally, i want metal scales.

Re: Favorite EDC steel

This is interesting.

I have 4 Military's at the moment: REX 45, 4V, S30V, and M4. The M4 Millie consistently loses its fine edge faster than the other 3. I can bring it right back with a few swipes on the Sharpmaker, but it doesn't last as long as the others. It also seems to hold onto a burr ...

What is your favorite EDC steel?
CruWear. Stainless enough, tough as nails, takes a very nice edge and strops back very easily. If i had to pick one steel to marry for the rest of my life, it would be CruWear.

You could say the same and do it better with 14C28N.
Ok, and is that a budget Spyderco steel?

True but it’s subtle unlike the other Natives. So much so that I forgot mine had one.
It is subtle, but i think it works.
Clearly; i have 8 of them so far.

Re: CR13MoV it's not what I thought.

It's an excellent beginner steel because it's fairly tough and terribly easy to sharpen

A swedged Native5 seems a very practical version and would be fun. :)

Which one would you go with? (Anyone can chime in)
My recommendation would hinge on the application, but having a strong distaste for M4 would preclude my endorsement. CruWear is my favourite EDC steel so it will almost invariably get my vote.

unfortunately this Manix is pinned, the pre-CQI version
i have plenty of spare hardware; i converted my lightweights to standard liner versions. If you're comfortable drilling out the rivets, i can supply you with the screws and nuts
