Re: Sage 6 to left handed sage 5 conversion?
I definitely have the s30v sage 6. It’s wonderfully made for sure. Being nearly sortah ambidextrous I just always dig deep into asymmetries in hand ergonomics.

Sage 6 to left handed sage 5 conversion?
I’m not gonna do this with the cf releases obviously, but it looks like the button compression lock mechanism within the sage 6 is essentially left handed compression locks! … will left handed vanilla compression locks or conversions be viable? I personally don’t have the right tools or steady ...

Re: Kapara s90v burlap micarta KnifeCenter exclusive
It’s honestly the smoothest micarta scales ive yet to handle. Micarta just is such a warm material to hold. Not super ergonomic lock for left handed use though

Re: Will MagnaMax be the next Mule?
I've used this AEB-L mule on veggies for almost a year, re-sharpened it once & no rust yet.
Scales are 3DP PETG, slicer modified www download, added surface fuzz and thumb cutouts.
Wash with hot water & soap & wipe dry.

Re: Mule Team blades in stock
Where’s the inventory info on the site? I’ve never noticed this
Can't believe there are any AEB-Ls left.
Available for just over 2 years now, with 99 left in stock per the Spyderco website, as of this posting.
I am not at all surprised to see this Mule still around. I believe VG-XEOS will ...

I’ll post some later this weekend after I sort out a reliable image host setup that’s not asking to be paid in goofy cyber currency. Probably AWS s3 unless there’s something saner

Re: Surface finish variation across manix2 steels and beyond!
I actually took some time over the holidays to reshape a para3 second and a ladybug plus hand finish them to see how it shakes out. Having a nice hand finish somehow made them feel much nicer to use.

Surface finish variation across manix2 steels and beyond!
Hello everyone,
I’m fortunate to have several manix2 blades and I’ve noticed they are all finished quite differently!
The lw manix 2 bd1n has a wonderful finish that I love! And I want more of! It’s like all the sharp spots on the spine and spydie hole have microscopic chamfers!
It looks like the ...

Re: LeafJumper
I only learned of the leaf jumper after it got discontinued, and much cheaper ;) . It’s the first no choil lockback I’ve found comfortable. And where I don’t have to worry about how much I choke my grip forward!

Re: Manix 2 Question
Is it possible that the real issue is friction between the g10 and the cage rather than the spring?
I’ve added some lubricant where those meet and that makes a huge difference. My lightweight frcp one doesn’t have this issue. But nylon type stuff rubbing nylon tends to self lubricate as I ...

Re: More sheepsfoot profile blades?
@vivi yeah I’ve thought about both of those approaches, I’ll probably go for that lc200n salt you suggest.
Grinding down one of the serrated ones is certainly possible, I’ve even contemplated doing that. Though not what I’d like to start with :).
Though if I diy it I’ll have to manage dust ...

Re: More sheepsfoot profile blades?
My favorite small Spyderco is my favorite exactly because of that “sheepsfoot with a belly” shape.
Oh, I do have a pingo. It’s pretty cute. I do find its full flat grind challenging for me to sharpen effectively, which its definitely a skill issue on my part. I do find its wedge shape makes ...

Re: More sheepsfoot profile blades?
Insigio googling seems to indicate a sheep foot with a working point that’s between Spydie wharn and sheep’s foot with a slightly curved belly?
Yeah that’s a nice type of shape.
I guess my desire for “non aggressive” knife profiles is from a mix of working in very corporate software engineering ...

More sheepsfoot profile blades?
This might be overlooking something obvious: but why aren’t there more spyderco folders with the sheepsfoot profile? While I understand that strictly speaking a wharncliffe by spyderco standards is what many other manufacturers call a sheepsfoot (or some blend of the two), I really like how ...
