Thanks Wendy and Sal, what wonderful photos!! The 2-screw model has handles of two different thicknesses, first edition!! I'd love to ask you some anecdotes about this model, but I realize you've been asked a thousand ...

If you lift up the whole knife block it can be used to crack walnuts or crab and lobster.
don't try this at home :winking-tongue

Nothing I like better than seeing my best knife out on the counter in the block so someone can grab it at random to open a package or worse.
I hope I never have someone in my house who misuses a kitchen knife block.
Otherwise, what kind of kitchen knife block would it be? :thinking

Re: Spyderco kitchen knife block

Sal designed a knife block for the Murray Carter series that held the knives horizontally to avoid dulling as they were inserted/withdrawn. Very few were made and I believe they were only ever shown in SFO. They were beautiful, but very expensive, so I'm not sure if they'll ever see full-scale ...

Re: Spyderco kitchen knife block

Honestly, a knife block is something that objectively takes up a ridiculous amount of space and protects the knife itself. It's not a stylistic quirk, but in my opinion, pure practicality. (Even if you have a tiny and always messy kitchen.)

Re: Spyderco kitchen knife block

I don't believe Spyderco made and/or marketed a knife block, especially for the models you mentioned. Victorinox does offer knife blocks with 'bristles' inside that fit all knives (up to a certain length). I used those for a while, before I got a new kitchen and I got to custom design the drawers ...

It's easy to get an empty knife block. Just fill the slots with your list and go to town.

I don't want a simple knife block, I would like it made by Spyderco, otherwise I can settle for Chef Tony and his miracle blades ...

Spyderco kitchen knife block

Hello everyone!
My question/curiosity is very simple: does a Spyderco kitchen knife block exist, has it existed, or will it ever exist?
It would be fantastic to have one. In Europe, many companies circumvent EU regulations by having the knives produced in China and then refinishing the steel in the ...
