We've been working on the 50th anniversary model for quite a while. Trying to make a forum knife at the same time would be more stressful than we'd like.

Our last forum knife wasn't received well. We can discuss this again after the Anniversary knife is done.

What years were the s30v saber grind Manix 2 made?

I have some 154cm ones and a bunch of flat grind s30v ones but have only seen a few s30v saber grind ones

my fathers usa based manufacturing business was ironically protected by tariffs in 80s and 90s. changes in industry and odd flukes of what had a tariff and what didn't worked to their advantage up to the early 2000s . then had to go to china to survive.

China is a perilous place to do business ...

I have been actively collecting spyderco again since just around reveal 14. I have purchased 3-7 from every release up to this one where I am not even sure I will buy one. maybe the 15v native chief. not interested in china releases.

This is not terribly hard to do if the threads have a thread locker on them. This is very common to find on knives, guns etc. You don't want the screw to back out and lose the knife or parts . I assume any screw on a decent ...

For general use I actually prefer a non -steel talonite/stellite

For a blade steel actually made out of steel zdp-189. M390 and magnacut all work great for me

I found a nos mariner (g-2 marked) and it came wrapped in a foil paper. I think I remember some Japan models coming that way in the 90s but am not certain. does anybody have more information?

supposedly a Japanese market Damascus stretch. tried to find out if authentic but could not confirm. really cool knife.

The owner has had a pharmacy license for close to 50 years so retirement or change in work load may be a reason. Hope a happy healthy retirement is the plan!!!

in the last 6 months I saw a native with crucible marked on the flat of the blade on eBay. It had already sold when I got home that night

I started getting back into spydercos about 6 months after this released. its a cool knife.
