Para 3.
I decided to order 15v two weeks ago. I was pretty sure I would return it based on my dislike of sage (which was described as better para 3 here). Yet, my sage is gone and the 15v has not left my pocket since unboxing.

Re: Laser rust removal.
I think rust removal could be as popular as sharpening services 🤣 anyone use these on their pocket knives? Anyone use zinc as a sacrificial anode? I think a zinc disc pressed into the Spydie hole of the mule or trademark hole of a fixed Spyderco is a good idea to prevent rust too.

Re: Bodacious Discussion
Spyderco s30v is pretty excellent in terms of overall performance. Spy27 is more along the lines of vg10 , but also excellent. I believe it boils down to edge retention vs toughness.
On a more pragmatic note, what else would you do with stockpile of steel if you are a knife manufacturer ...

Re: Making the most of what you’ve got
Ok, this is a weird one and not about the blade. We all know what G10 does to jeans pockets, and as a joke I once said G10 scales can be used as a nail file....It actually works....
As an avid rock climber this is top information! Damaged nails is a constant hassle to repair.
Since we are ...

Re: Bodacious Discussion
Can't knock SPY27 in a work knife, just not sure why Spyderco even released the Bodacious in S30V to begin with? I was under the impression SPY27 was going to be the standard steel moving forward but then Magnacut became all the rage.

Re: Reveal 18 - Live!
I wonder why the Lil' Native sprint runs are 3.2 mm thick vs. the standard Lil' Natives that are 2.5 mm thick? The increased thickness is unfortunate because I like thinner blades, especially on small knives.
I think you got it backwards. The lil natives in production are g10 and are 3.2 mm ...

Re: Folding knife for food or use in restaurants
what kind of steaks cooked to what kinds of temps are ya'll eating that even a dull knife would struggle with?
I've had steaks so tender I can eat them with just a fork.
When I cook my steaks the only utensil you need is a spoon.
Now I’m not responsible for what they serve me.
I like ...

Re: Folding knife for food or use in restaurants
I've spent quite a bit of money on kitchen knives over the years and if visiting friends and am expecting to participate in food prep, I'll bring along a chef's and a paring or maybe a filet or Chinese vegetable cleaver. If I'm not fishing or hunting my normal EDC is a Mantra 2 which is like a ...

Neat tricks!
Lightsabers! So, summary: Yes, I quite often scratch my head when I read here how almost panicky people are afraid that they could actually just TOUCH the cutting edge of their knives.

Re: Seki City back lock quality in 2022?
As I said earlier in this thread never had issue using my seki backlocks for hard use.
Also I never noticed any blade play until I read about it on this forum. It is not noticeable in normal use. I have to push down on the knife’s spine near the tip when it is open to observe it. Of all the Seki’s ...

Yes - another handle variant added to the controlled series that exclusively features different handle variants. :cheap-sunglasses
More steels will be used in the LW model platform.
Wheel was also a controlled series at some point in prehistoric times. I bet there were those who wanted it to ...

You definitely don’t need it. But it does sound like you want it. Don’t let us tell you how to spend your money.

Agreed on 3.5!
Anything less than that and I would probably choose regular chap instead.

Re: Sage 5 LW Salt liner coating coming off?
Seems that friction from blade movement during opening/closing removed the coating.
Maybe the coating should be more abrasion resistant.
However, no coating is abrasion proof, especially at such thin application.
Nvm I just realized it is the scale face that’s affected.

I actually kinda like the basic sounding Chaparral XL,
However, I also like boy (chap)/man route, but maybe instead of man let’s go with chad, as in Chaddaral, lol.

Re: Just the tip?
I’ve broken a tip of a native 5 when I accidentally dropped it.
Never broken one in use.
I do occasionally use tips to dislodge legos for my son and so far they were strong enough for that.
