No, they are linerless. The description of the knife on Spyderco.com says as much.

Re: What is the best steel for retaining high sharpness?
It depends on what you're cutting, but the most important thing for maintaining a fine edge is a small edge angle. Therefore you need a steel that can support a small edge angle, and the analysis becomes an edge stability question rather than an edge retention question. You want a tough, hard steel ...

Re: PM2 with a QC error (?)
Seconds are caught by QC, marked accordingly and sold at a discount. Mistakes that pass QC, are not marked, and sold at full price are somewhat different and more difficult to obtain, therefore they may have higher collectibility even if the mistake itself is found among seconds.

Re: Is the UKPK is actually legal in the UK?
Interesting article, but what is a “zombie knife”?
Simple, it's a bladed article with:
(i) a plain cutting edge;
(ii) a sharp pointed end; and
(iii) a blade of over eight inches in length (the length of the blade being the straight-line distance from the top of the handle to the tip of the ...

Re: PM2 with a QC error (?)
Yeah I don’t buy that this is a “second” or “unpleasant surprise”, anyone who collects coins will know the value of such things, and this will be realised in time. Cool to hear the back story, and the choice you made to keep it for posterity, and buy another, is a good one.
Am I understanding ...

Re: PM2 with a QC error (?)
It doesn't make sense for a faker to etch one side perfectly but not the other, it's just a genuine manufacturing error. If you want it as a user then the etch doesn't matter anyway, so I don't see what the problem is. If it bothers you, send it back to Spyderco or sell it to some crazy collector.

Re: What is your all time favorite steel?
This sort of explains why 3V is my favorite. Need an unbreakable sword? Make it out of a thick piece of 3V. Need a straight razor with the edge retention of a high speed steel? Make it out of a thin piece of 3V.

Re: Has anyone had a UKPK confiscated by police in the UK?
I live in a large city, travel by train, and often find police check points randomly set up herding people through metal detectors.
I saw a video where they said you have the legal right to not go through the metal detector if the police don't have grounds to search you, but then the police ...

Re: 3v vs 4v?
I've been seeing a few mentions of 3v in a Spyderco knife. I asked and got a reply saying that 4v is better for hardenability, but 3v is better for rough use.

The basic is priced at $350 and there are various upgrade options. There is usually a sale every other Friday at 3pm EST. There won't be one today, maybe next week.

Re: Why CPM 3V
