Re: 3D print ONE PIECE handle?
As someone that has done 3d printing for a long time I believe this is a terrible idea, partly because of the issue with getting the filament to stick to the steel but also from the fact that the failure rate will be very high and when prints fail weird things can happen and I wouldn't want to have ...

Re: MT46P/MT46S - Mule Team™ MagnaMax™ Release Info!
Halpern Titanium took care of me well. I've now got the second set of jade scales on the way. I've now got my 15V Mule to compare head to head with my MagnaMax Mule. Gotta save up a bit for the K294 (10V) Mule, which is probably a more fair comparison, but we will see, niobium is interesting. Live ...

Re: MT46P Testing Thread
I don't have a MagnaMax mule (yet), but I'm a little hazy on the MagnaMax Mule stats. This is what I have assumed by reading around, can the forum please correct any errors found below?
Mule Rc hardness around 63+?
MagnaMax has CATRA in the 700-750 range?
MagnaMax toughness somewhere in the ...

Re: MT46S MagnaMax SE Testing Thread
when will we know the composition of this steel ?
We removed the composition of the steel from the website. Larrin said that; 1) our listing did not include all of the elements, and 2) We should wait to list the composition of the steel until a formal listing in published publicly.

Re: Let's talk Mule Team quantities
Lots to think about. The time required from decision to shipping Mules takes a long time. Years.
For that reason, I don't think the pre-order system is workable.
Some dealers take pre-orders. Sometimes, so much time passes between "pre-order" and "delivery" that I lose interest and cancel ...

Re: MagnaMax Mule Ordered
So I've been working from home since April 11'th due to an office remodel, today is my first day back in the office and my mules were delivered today lol, of course. I have to be patient for the rest of the day.

Re: MagnaMax Mule Ordered
My MagnaMax mules were supposed to be delivered yesterday but it appears they are... Delayed, I hope. The status seems to indicate they are "on the way" but appear to be in the next town over since yesterday at 11am. Doesn't say they arrived there though which is odd...
I hope FedEx didn't loose ...

Re: MagnaMax Mule Ordered
I have a K294 Mule I’ll be comparing the PE MagnaMax to. And I have a K390 LeafJumper SE I’ll be comparing to the SE Mule.
Yeah. The SEs aren’t the same size, blade shape, or anything else. But it’s what I have.
The K294 should compare well with it, I have 2 K294 Mules, 2 T15 Mules that all ...

Re: MagnaMax Mule Ordered
I also have a PE on the way. Much excite. I'm especially interested in comparing it to the K294 Mule, which has been a venerable fixed blade in my collection with tons of use. Who will win?! I may even carry them together for some back-to-back cuts and testing... this is going to be fun.
They ...

Re: MagnaMax Mule Ordered
Ordered, and sold out. I wonder if there will be a second run, or if instead we’ll just start seeing MagnaMax production models.
I've not been buying mules very long but I have seen where they initially put half the inventory up for sale and then weeks/months later release the rest, I think ...

Re: MagnaMax Mule Ordered
Got 1 of each! I'm glad they limited sales to 1 of each type. Demand is there regardless - no need to enable the flippers.
The PE is going on immediate Kitchen duty. The SE will be the backpacking/outdoor/work knife for a while.
I think the Kitchen knife will be my motivation to finally make my ...

Re: MagnaMax Mule Ordered
I wish I was able to get the se. I’m curious what the feedback is like with that one.
Honestly I much prefer plain edges but we were limited to 1 of each edge type per household and free shipping required spending $150... lol I'm ok with it, it's the first Mule offered with the SE, I figured I ...

Re: Pop’s Procut - Larrin Thomas Carbon Steel
I'm looking forward to grinding some very thin kitchen knives in it at HRC 64-65 or so.
Oh, that sounds like it will be fun to try making. A lot of people think the HRC 61-62 that my kitchen knife has is pretty hard, 65 would be impressive.
I'm sure it will be easier than the MagnaCut ...

Re: Pop’s Procut - Larrin Thomas Carbon Steel
While it might not be ground breaking it certainly has some VERY interesting properties. HRC of around 67 as quenched and very resistant to temper, so from what I'm seeing tempering at 375 will give you around HRC 65 which is CRAZY. Easy to harden to it's full potential even in a forge. Very tough ...

Re: Pop’s Procut Larrin Thomas Steel
I saw it yesterday and ordered a bar to make some kitchen knives out of, I usually use MagnaCut for the stainless ones and 26c3 for the carbon steel, I'll be switching to ProCut most likely for the carbon steel and maybe MagnaMax for the stainless depending on how hard it will be to finish.

Larrin is awesome, just joined his Patreon but have been following his work for years and as I said, I've been making knives from MagnaCut from the first heat that was available to purchase.
