Re: Anyone Else Up For a Resilience in CPM-M4?

I didn't have any issues taking them apart. Both knives had a thick white-ish loctite that resembled dried toothpaste but it didn't require a soldering iron or anything to remove the screws, they came out easily. The threaded standoffs or barrels running along the back of the handle were the problem...

Re: Anyone Else Up For a Resilience in CPM-M4?

I really lost my appreciation for the tenacious family after I tried to take both an 8cr and a s35vn model apart. After 3 hours of searching, reading, attempting, neither went back together. Taken dozens and dozens of knives, cheap and expensive, apart and never had an issue. The M4 Tenacious was wh...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

https://i.postimg.cc/BnCZ0PWk/IMG-3432.jpg Would there be less distinction between the FRN D'fly and the Lil' Native LW? I think this would tighten up the choice due to the variety of steels offered on the Dfly. I prefer my comp lock Lil Natives to my Dfly's, not for the lock but just for ergos. Th...

Re: MANIX NAME

Are we just going to gloss over the the fact that that the Mannix TV show was on 30 years before the C95 Manix happened? I mean if you were a poor kid in the 90s reruns of Gilligan's Island, Flipper, The Brady Bunch, Happy Days etc were what was on the channels you had so I could believe Mannix sti...

Re: EDC Hygiene: Fixed Blade VS. Folder

Honestly as someone with a below average immune system Im interested in this answer. I've always been left scratching my head when someone lists food prep as one of their factors for liking or carrying an edc knife design, especially a folder. I just can't wrap my head around the idea of having a kn...

Re: CRUWEAR Is now my Favorite SE blade steel

I've not gotten to try CruWear in a SE, but I've long wondered why we don't see it more often. Not just from Spyderco but the knife industry in general. Tough, easy to sharpen, and decent edge holding. CruWear's mix of properties seem to make it almost perfectly suited for serrated edges. It would b...

Re: Good second Spyderco

While I love the Endura/Pac Salt the UKPK has kicked the Delica out of my pocket. If youre new to knives and want something around 3" the Native 5 LW and UKPK are both a strong choice. They're just so easy to disassemble and service, and also come in a wide variety of steels. Neither take up mu...

Re: A step into the modern world with the Lil Native / thoughts

I think people pass on the Lil Native because of the price, but it is a fantastic little harder use knife. I started out a large knife person and dont have any restrictions where I live. The Lil Native frequently finds it's way into my pocket over others. In my normal day to day there's rarely a tim...

Re: Which steel for my next knife? (Lil' Native)

Own 3 Lil Natives and love them. For me and the edges I run S30v, S45VN, and 20cv arent different enough to make a strong case to chose one over the other. 20cv does have great corrosion resistance but my knives arent in a position for it to matter. You may want to wait a couple of days till knife j...

Re: Is this the knife everyone clamors for?

I was able to snag a Manix 2 backlock off eBay last year. For me it is Spyderco's most perfect knife. The lock snaps into place harder than most any Cold Steel yet is still easy to disengage, and it's definitely the most comfortable Manix 2 in hand. The lack of the handle/liner jimping lets you trul...

Re: New Manix 2 with Uneven Bevel

I honestly thought for years asymmetrical bevels were supposed to be that way because nearly every knife has them. Agreed that pics would help determine if it's outside the realm of acceptable. I feel like the leaf shape also lends itself more to slight asymmetry at "just the tip." Has any...
