Re: Prices OMG Seriously?
Isn't Rex 121 one of the steels that's gone extinct with the death of Crucible? The prices of the Sage 5 and Pm2 were set long before anyone knew how limited of a supply there was. There's always the chance that they sit on shelves and don't sell. Then they'll get clearanced in a year or two. If ...

So far just the Manbug. I'm not brave like some people in here though. Currently trying to figure out the best way to mill 2 slots around the lanyard hole so I can attach a wire clip.

Re: Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight Wharncliffe
I like wharncliffes a lot, but I'd much rather see a PD#1 or Spy27 SE sprint. I know Sal has said keeping this knife around is more of a passion project and the MAP price got reduced last year to try and inspire more sales. I doubt they'll invest any more into the design than they already have, but ...

Re: Caribbean SE discontinued ?
As stated its sadly discontinued. The Caribbean is the much better pm2, but Spyderco seems steadfast in handcuffing it as a Salt only model. I think most people see the price tag and think it's too much for lc200n.

Re: Love for the little guys
Try as I might I never could get on with the DFly. Ended up snagging a pink handle off eBay from someone who I assume was a spydernox maker. Swapped my vg10 wharncliffe blade over and gave it to the GF as a purse knife.

Re: Anyone else hoping for more steels/colors in the Lil Native LW?
I've hoped for s110v the minute it was announced as a model. The smaller the blade the more I like a high edge retention steel. S110v is basically a salt steel that only needs to be sharpened once a year, maybe twice if you're really getting after it. Given what a perfect compliment it is in the ...

Re: Christmas carry (and gifts), a festive thread
Carrying more this month is a Manbug. I resisted for a long time because the Dfly felt so off and awkward in my hand that I thought anything smaller would also not be great. Manbug is great and I'm going to buy more flavors.

Re: Landing Gear Alloys adapted for blades?
Air bus uses titanium components in their landing gear whereas domestic airlines use mainly high strength steel. High strength steel would not work, very susceptible to corrosion, easily burned with the machine process and too soft. Commercial airlines shotpeen the landing gear parts to strengthen ...

That all seems perfectly honest and ethical to me. Has my moral compass gone cattywampus?
As long as it's for personal use and he doesn't profit from it in anyway then nothing has happened. Your moral compass still points true.
On a side note though as someone whose has made a fixed blade ...

Re: Came here to pick a fight!
The best one I've ever had is an example of the Knife Joy exclusive Para 3 in Pink/s45vn. I'll preface this by saying I don't love the PM2 at all(there's a fight). I also don't think the Para 3 is the best Spyderco of its size. I do mildly enjoy the Para 3, unlike the PM2, but I still only carry one ...

Re: What is your favorite high Carbon non stainless steel?
Completing the entire V-toku set this year is my biggest grail. It brought me shameful levels of feeling accomplished, satisfaction, and pride.
If I could only have one for each I'd go Rex45 for PE and CruWear for SE. If I could only have one for the rest of time Rex45 no ragrets.

Re: 4” Combo Edge Knife?
Combo edge is best edge, if a model I want offers it I'll always choose it no matter the size. Such a shame it isn't more widely accepted among knife enthusiasts. The serrated part cuts nearly everything just as well as a straight edge would, but some things better. Even with something smaller like ...

Re: MagnaCut Corrosion?
Not trying to be a Spyderco apologist, just out of curiosity. Where the corrosion is present on the blade, is that the part of the edge that was used to open the food and the instant coffee? As you've said OP no steel is technically corrosion proof, though H1/H2 comes so close it truly is a super ...

Re: What would be your dream knife?
It never changes. Stop handcuffing the Caribbean as a Salt only knife. Do away with the milled scales to bring the cost down and start introducing it in other steels. Even if they're just sprints it would be so nice to see. The real dream would be to bring back the serrated blades in CruWear and ...
