Re: What is your favorite high Carbon non stainless steel?
Completing the entire V-toku set this year is my biggest grail. It brought me shameful levels of feeling accomplished, satisfaction, and pride.
If I could only have one for each I'd go Rex45 for PE and CruWear for SE. If I could only have one for the rest of time Rex45 no ragrets.

Re: 2025 Black Friday map holiday
I think this is the year I finally pull the trigger on a Native 5 Salt SE Magnacut. Love my s110v and DLC s30v. Never buy the SE Magnacut when it's on sale, always regret it.

Re: 4” Combo Edge Knife?
Combo edge is best edge, if a model I want offers it I'll always choose it no matter the size. Such a shame it isn't more widely accepted among knife enthusiasts. The serrated part cuts nearly everything just as well as a straight edge would, but some things better. Even with something smaller like ...

Re: MagnaCut Corrosion?
Not trying to be a Spyderco apologist, just out of curiosity. Where the corrosion is present on the blade, is that the part of the edge that was used to open the food and the instant coffee? As you've said OP no steel is technically corrosion proof, though H1/H2 comes so close it truly is a super ...

Re: What would be your dream knife?
It never changes. Stop handcuffing the Caribbean as a Salt only knife. Do away with the milled scales to bring the cost down and start introducing it in other steels. Even if they're just sprints it would be so nice to see. The real dream would be to bring back the serrated blades in CruWear and ...

Re: Lost knives - living the hypothetical
Husqvarna makes a very nice universal key to open any locked door on most buildings. I prefer the 14" as it really hits the goldilocks zone for just about any task. Stihl and Echo also make universal keys in a few sizes depending on your key budget, but Huskys really can take the most punishment ...

Re: Blade to Handle Efficiency?
Never really been a concern for me. Being comfortable in the hand has pretty much become my main priority. Whether or not I'm sort a few mm of blade isn't something I ever notice in use.
I do really love the Sage though. I guess when I get to that point I expose the tip I'll hit it with a belt ...

Re: Sailing, Navy, Safety
Unpopular opinion but Jimping on finger choils or thumb ramps.
So few Spydercos have smooth choils and ramps. Smooth choils and ramps are always so much more comfortable using barehanded for more than 30 seconds. Jimping is just engineered hotspots, your hand is already locked in. I'm convinced the ...

If they did a run of Tasman SE in PD#1 with full liner Delica handle, I'd take out a mortgage in my landlord's name on the apartment I rent.

Re: Magnacut
The only steel that the Sage 5 comes in that I'd say is easier to sharpen than S30V is probably SPY27.
If you find S30V difficult to sharpen, I'd recommend getting CBN or diamond stones, then it should not be difficult anymore.
This x2
If you're having trouble with s30v any diamond style ...

Re: Out of stock on purpose
There's no way what distributors are paying on bulk wholesale orders is more profit per knife than what Spyderco makes by selling direct to customers even with the opsfocus discount. Selling direct to customers for any company is always the best profit. Spyderco would love to sell as many knives as ...
