Are you able to see this image?

I did a screen capture in my desktop browser and saved the image as a local file. I then added it using the 'Attachments' tab below the buttons in the full editor. Click 'Add files', select and upload an image ...

Re: Bodacious

Thanks Tim. Big nope for me with such notch. :no-mouth

I once was notch guy, but now I like in Spydies that they don't snag materials. Removing nob or changing the shape on handle isn't bad idea.

I don't particularly like the notch in the blade either. That is why I suggested handle forward ...

I hadn't realized you were also on this forum. I liked what you did so much I posted this same image in the Bodacious thread along with another. Feel free to expand on it or let me know to replace it.

Re: Bodacious

I will not say no to a Lil Bodacious as long as I can also get a Bodacious XL.

On the other forum, Chronovore posted a photo of a modded Lil' Native. It immediately made me think of a Lil' Bodacious in that size. I like my Lil' Native and would expect a similarly sized Lil' Bodacious to also ...

Re: Do You Have Specific Loaner Knives?

For EDC, I usually have several knives with me, one of which is a SAK. So, if anyone needs to borrow something, I loan that one in case they intend to do something other than cut. For any other knives, I would rather gift it than loan it like the 110 Para 3 I gave my brother.

Re: How do YOU define "beater knife"?

Mentally, I might consider 'beater' as a knife so worn out I wouldn't want to carry it, but I don't have any like that. So, in reality, for me, EDC=beater. Why EDC a knife if you're afraid to actually use it? As with others, the also carried SAK can handle non-cutting tasks.

Another usage I've seen that looks nice might be a copper bolster, kind of like the bolster overlay on the image of the 50th, just copper.

Re: Throwback Thursday Carry

End of last uear I finally found the SE Meerkat. I use it from time to time to open a box, but that phantom lock is just so cool! I can easily one hand close it thanks to the "cut outs" in the scales. The pommel of the knife can be used to rest your pinky on. Very well thought out design ...

Here is a quote from Larrin on his thoughts between AEB-L and 14C28N:

"14C28N is essentially AEB-L (or perhaps more accurately Sandvik 13C26), but with improved corrosion resistance. Despite the improved corrosion resistance, it is still capable of similar hardness (above 62 with cryo), and in ...

What are you folks using now to host/post pictures with?

As I often cross-post with another forum, I use my flickr.com account for those photos. I'm not sure what the current new user free level would be, but I joined it back in 2006 and am still on the free level. With a slow upload rate, I'm ...

Re: Oddball blade steels

If it were anything too bright, I would probably save using it for garden or beach and not carry it generally. While white/ivory could be easily re-colored, I also find it easier to mark up like the ivory damas urban I used to have; one of the reasons I got rid of it. I wouldn't object to a deep ...

And I am a Sal fan. :smlling-eyes
Maybe we need a Spyderco version of Buck's 501 'The Larrin'. I wonder what that would be.

If we get two variations of this knife, will there be two different edge lengths? Or, will the edge length be the same with just variations of handle/blade interface?

Re: Police XL Talk

I'm not sure the drop on finger would be a new unique problem. The Caly 3.5 I have already does that. Folks can learn to live with it like I did. Trying to avoid that possibility just in case some folks have difficulty learning shouldn't prevent improving designs in other ways.

Re: 50th anniversary, it's a Native !

I have a similar thought process about pricing. If it were under $200 (unlikely), it would be a definite buy. Between $200-300, I would waffle a bit before deciding and factor in what else I've just purchased from that same budget. Above that, it would be probably not unless it were tempting enough ...
