Re: 2025 Factory Seconds Sale

Outstanding to see everyone Thursday night for a bit and obtain more knowledge on Spyderco and the camaraderie they bring. I'll be there Saturday with a fair amount of Veterans.

Re: China

I also appreciate the people who are keeping this topic as non partisan as possible.

It’s the guy that doesn’t comprehend what that request means and insists on discussing politics that I do not appreciate.

Why is it a forum rule in the first place if it’s not going to be enforced?

“In an ...

Am I the only one who wants a fixed Salt shaman but with a smaller spydie hole since you would not need to open it?!?!🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠
Yes. Yes you are. I've asked the factory. They just smiled. Don't stop believing.

Re: China

Some answers of epic proportion. Spyderco’s never chased purity tests—mission first, people always. These new drops prove it. ButtonUp’s button lock is a slick twist on our compression heritage: smooth, ergonomic, and wallet-friendly. Mantra 4 just got sleeker and more pocketable. The Salt crew ...

Hey KnifeKnuts, Josh,

Starting a knife company comes with a boatload of challenges, The ability to overcome adversity takes perseverance and patience. That's if you are building. Then marketing, sales, etc. is an additional PITA. I give them credit for the jump, and it is a jump. We have one of ...

Re: H1Spyderco Machete?

I think an H2 Machete would be too cost prohibitive for the vast majority of Spyderco's market. In my opinion, it would not be worth their time to develop and produce one. I would expect it to be comparable in price to something like the Darn Dao, which sat on shelves for literally years after it ...

Re: What is the best steel for retaining high sharpness?

Also, what makes a steel retain that super sharp edge as opposed to "breaking down" into a working edge?

Differences in retained austenite, carbide size/volume, hardness, stress/fatigue, grain growth, plate martensite vs lath and heat build up during processing.

Lastly, your sharpening ...

Re: Whats with all the fakes on ebay?

I find the notion that they're easy to spot to be preposterous. Half the time you see someone asking if one is a fake, someone will come in saying, "That's the most obvious fake I have ever seen! Look at the Spyderco logo, it's tilted half a degree too far to the left, how could you not tell ...

Re: GITD LC200N and Maganacut?

In my view, yes, it's absolutely time to bring it back on the LC200N and MagnaCut lines. The GITD FRN has proven appeal from past releases, and with Spyderco's focus on innovation, it could differentiate these premium steels in a crowded market. For the Salt series specifically, it would enhance ...

Re: Is k390 overrated?

I've had my leafjumper in k390 for almost 8 months today and I keep experiencing fairly fast edge wear.

How I'm pretty certain that the edge is good:
→ I've only sharpened it freehand on either 325/400 to 600/1200 grit on both plated and resin bonded diamond stones at 15 dps. I would do my best ...
