Re: No new Byrd models for 2024?

Of course, I understand. I meant, after product is officially released and available for purchase on website et al, to make a post/video of how the model could look like. Like "at first, we had an idea to use this and make it look like that, but we refused that concept and then went for this an...

Re: No new Byrd models for 2024?

Good afternoon, Sal!
Really? Wow! Can't wait to see it in reality.
After ready product version is released, it would be interesting to see that knife evolution from concept drawings (how it was supposed to look like and what do we have in the end) and so on, just like automakers do.

No new Byrd models for 2024?

From what I saw on Blade HQ's youtube interview with Eric Glasser I made an assumption that there'll be no new Byrd models for 2024 in sight. Please, correct me if I'm wrong [oh, Lord, I wish I were wrong here].
Is that so, no new models this year?

Re: Salt 1 being discontinued?!?

[10 years later] - wow! just bought new out of box Salt 1 Black FRN PE at a discounted price.
Looks crisp (even suspected whether it's original one), never used, was lying at the store shelf for ages behind more popular Paras and Enduras. I'm happy as Larry! )))

A knife of Civilian SE or maybe PE type would be interesting, indeed. With G-10, of course. And call it a Condor )))

I love using mine, but today I took this picture of it with some of its old relatives. https://i.postimg.cc/mrdDQp2B/A6-C0-AB8-A-0-C46-4-C17-96-A0-62021440-FE32.jpg From smallest to largest, those are casts of the “killing claw” of the raptor dinosaurs Velociraptor, Dromaeosaurus, Deinonychus, and ...

Re: Stainless Steel Meadowlark -- How Thick?

Hi, Kale! First of all, thank you for a very good question, indeed. Lots of sources quite just the same measurements, but not handle thickness. But I found it. It appears that visually stainless steel handle is thinner compared to FRN one. Number-wise it's 0.8 cm (for comparison, FRN handle is 1.0 c...

Re: Knife quotes!

These are the most interesting quotes to me so far: There was never a good knife made of bad steel. (Benjamin Franklin) Do not fear the knife, fear the tongue. (Russian proverb) A sharp blade needs no sharpening. (Masai proverb) Take heed, dear heart, of this large privilege; The hardest knife ill-u...

BYRD as transition towards Spydie knives (or NOT)

Hello, friends! Initially, before going Byrd I thought of it as a transition towards getting a Spyderco knife. In order to better understand myself, am I a knife person or not. The shopkeeper, young muscular guy with gorilla-type large hands kindly showed me the entire line of products they had and ...

Re: Spyderco is like a horrible disease

Well, still resisting the Spyderco virus (pricetag keeps me away from unthinkable). BUT suffered a lighter version, which is called Byrd )))
Seriously, considering what to buy as a first Spydie (though sth between Centofante and Salt I).

I did this popular blade swap with the Ti version:

I've toyed with the idea of making some custom scales but that's as far as I've gotten. So many other projects ahead of it.
Nice work, Bemo!

Re: Is there a BYRD in your pocket??

These are mine, and I like them both. First choice is Robin, and second - Meadowlark. They both cut very well and can greatly handle day-to-day needs. Alas, had to give away Hawkbill, which I found simply unsuitable for my daily stuff (almost cut myself while trying to peel the orange). Be it slight...

Hi Megatron,

Welcome to our forum.

Hi, Sal. Many thanks for your craft the fruits of which we sincerely enjoy.
A fine Byrd-owning experience makes me to contemplate an idea of getting a Spyderco now, just don't know exactly what to start from.
Once again, great work!
