Thanks for the info. I was just wondering about ceramic knives I heard of. Now that knives are not allowed on planes, I'm sure law abiding citizens will not bring one on the plane but what about those people who want to cause harm. Couldn't they just get a ceramic knife now?

Are the ceramic knives like Boker ceramic blades made of pure ceramic? If so is the metal in the liner enough to set off a metal detector?

You guys should check out on-line auctions. I have gotten all of my spyderco knives there for 20-50 US dollars less than the cheapest online store. I got a FRN Endura for $25 a G10 Harpy $54 SS Harpy $57, working on a G10 Civie for $120, and a CF Civie for $145.

Do you know what the dimensions of the Pride are. I am curious as to know how big it is?

What handle material would you guys recommend for a Civilian. I have a couple G10 handled knives and like em alot. Was wondering how Carbon fiber handles feel and am looking for something differnt(hence the interest in the CF) Would I be disappointed if I got a CF handled Civie.

If you want a good deal on a Harpy or any other Spyderco knife, try ebay. I bought 2 Harpies there 1 G-10 1 SS. Just got the SS today and it's gorgeous. Don't know about slippage yet with the SS but no worries with the G10

Definetly go with the G-10. I got a Harpy with G-10 no slippage when wet( I use it when fishing) plus it shouldn't hurt cause the material is smoother than the FRN.

I live in Sunrise, Florida USA, small suburb of Ft. Lauderdale and just North of Miami. Great fishing down here except for lately I've hit a dry spell.

That's easy: My Camillus CUDA tanto style, combo edge, black-titanium finish. If you guys like knives you should check out Camillus CUDA. It opens lightening fast, faster than I can open my Spyderco Harpy.

Look on ebay. They have many many Spyderco knives on auction. You can get a pretty good deal too. I got a G-10 Harpy for 54 bucks.

If you carry your clip-it in your pocket and the clip is visible, is your knife considered concealed or not? Just wondering. I know laws vary from state to state city to city just wondered if the knife is considered concealed if you can still see the clip.

How can I tell if I've bought an authentic Spyderco G-10 Harpy. What should the blade and clipit markings say? Where should it say the blade is made?

I just recently acquired a G-10 Harpy. I bought it because I fish alot down here in sunny Florida. It's by far the best knife I've owned.

Thanks for the input guys. After doing a little more research I found the harpies they sell on that site must have been older cause the stel they use is different from the newer ones they sell at the Spyderco online store. Grant here is the site if you are interested
