Re: FOMO

There are 2 things that keep me from crushing, debilitating Spyderco FOMO: 1: I have a Magacut Salt and S15 Mule. 2: Not spending on more that I cannot use all at the same time allows backpacking trips with my Salt and more comfortable equipment so that I can have a little JOMO. But man do I ever wa...

Re: Spyderco 2023 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

"KnifeJoy Exclusive Manix2 with 20CV & Neon Green G-10 at $139.95 " just not fair. It's just not fair. Probably lose sleep over it tonight holding my resolve for a Manix2 S90V showing up at the right $ time.

Ripps Garage Tech (a scale maker who makes scales for many Spyderco models) is having a 40% off sale this weekend. Yeah really, 40%.
Those black Native 5's are awesome ... and my pockets are not that deep. < sigh > Glad there are such good vendors our there though.

I'm not sure which particular video you are trying to point to. Can you give the video title? I can try to search on that.

Just be careful with solvents like acetone around plastics and paint. I prefer high-proof rubbing alcohol as a general degreaser / ink remover.

Re: 15v vs beverage can

Yep, just slid the beer slushie into a tall glass. A little flat, but not ruined. ;) Thanks for the compliment! I wanted a handle real quick and not sure which to buy, so I used a piece of soft scrap that's been in my garage for a decade. That was easy to knock out in a couple hours before work. Wha...

Can you show a picture of the sheath next to your Mule for reference?

Also, what is your leatherwork or handyman skill and how much you want to put into the mods?

Welp, haven’t seen my Salt since sometime around the end of May… never gonna live that one down if my wife finds out. 😳

15v vs beverage can

I let my beverage freeze (ooooops) so used my Mule to open the can. Still cuts paper towel! :rofl

Granted y'all might not be all that impressed, but I kinda think this is a a pretty big step up from all my other knives.

Re: Really liking S90V

Lots of batoning and prying, little bit of digging and chopping through roots...using the tip to dig nails out so I can get them with the claw of a hammer. I feel really dumb every time I do that, but the tips still there: That knife has almost completely replaced my xm24 in my carry rotation. Its ...

Re: Really liking S90V

S90V is the only stainless steel that I describe as one of my favorite steels, as opposed to one of my favorite stainless steels. I've even used it to do all the dumb things you're not supposed to do with knives and never had any issues. I have to ask, what "dumb things..." :rofl have you...

Converted to Spyderco blade shape

I'm really happy with the latest Mule - that pointy blade is actually very useful ... at least if I could stop poking myself with it ... It's like an x-acto knife on steroids. My experience since '68 is not-so-pointy hunting blades, various drop point folders, and heavy camp knives. I never had any ...

Re: MT39P – CPM 15V Mule Team Dropping Soon!

Jeez, my tracking number has just said, "Label created" and nothing else for three days. I hate UPS. I'm just assuming the electronic label is in the system and Spyderco doesn't actually have the boxes checked into the UPS system yet. Not that I haven't been checking UPS all hours of the ...

It's a hazing process, Gene. If your chair is wet with sweat and you're taking antacids, you're part of the club.

Re: Who's making scales?

Hope to find nicely shaped (like not square) form fitting scales from these vendors. One I checked on their etsy site kept showing me pink scales when I tried to order green scales. Too busy for hobbies lately and doing things like shaping scales for a knife. I just want to go have fun getting lost ...

I think you should be fine with those sharpening tools. I don't think MagnaCut is classified as a high carbide steel.

LOL I kept getting time-outs and re-log in just about every step but still scored. I was on in seconds, and 10 minutes to complete the order. My nerves are a wreck. This will be my 2nd Spyderco.
