Re: How about a PM60 Mule?
Sounds like an interesting chemistry to me - I'm fond of the high-HRC mules and would be interested in testing/use if the opportunity arises down the road.

Smashed the bumper on our new truck... and so got a new plate bumper shipped freight in an absolutely huge box with tons of packaging. The packaging didn't stand a chance with my Rex45 Manix2 LW on-hand, even though they sort of matched. Absolutely crushed the job! https://i.postimg.cc/mggMPDrb/IMG-...

Did a smooth set today that really show off the Birdseye in the maple. About 15 minutes of light sanding aff the cnc and a quick coat of BLO and ready to go.

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?
I'm planning on testing out some of the techniques and tools I have from my stone carving experience. I am thinking it will act more like stone than steel when sharpening so I am thinking very fine diamond on various materials. I have soft backed diamond wheels going up to 50k as well as diamond pa...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
Bought a cheap ceramic knife to practice sharpening on in anticipation of the HIC Mule. First time trying to sharpen a ceramic knife. Out of the box it wouldn't slice a paper towel and barely sliced into a regular piece of paper. Sharpening it was an interesting experience. Initially started on my ...

Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?
As far as the forum goes, there are many , all over the world, that have an interest in knives and edges, to some degree, that have no persons in their world with whom they can have a serious conversation about knives. All too true. I joined this forum exactly because of this fact, and I'm quite th...

Absolutely hilarious, the disparity between the number of responses to this thread/poll, vs. the absolutely quite similar thread that just queries the number of knives. Fun games, and I'll participate in both.

Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?
Man, I'm feeling seen. Even with my relatively modest collection of a few dozen knives, the decision fatigue often leads to a few knives going with for the day... I typically keep 3-5 different steel/designs in the scary sharp state on the shelf so I can pick and choose based on the cutting (or abus...

Dan, now that I know it's actually a light tan color I'm even more envious! Great looking knife.Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 7:31 amPM2 is a DLT Tan exclusive which is difficult to get a true color of scales in cloudy conditions. It was a "warm" day here, still about 45F at sunset, so I'm celebrating by having a fire. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-SjD7gSk/0/L/i-SjD7gSk-L.jpg Man, the edge on your PM2 looks so good (and acute!). Looks like great fire weather. Unrelated, but here's mine for this fine Friday: h...

Interesting Forum name you chose i.e. "Ozark75". Which begs the question: Are you from the Missouri Ozarks? Yeah I do know that some of the Ozark range also extends south down to Arkansas. But most of the really good parts of the Ozarks Mountains ( big Hills) are here in good old Missouri...

Re: Show your mods!
I use a small refillable butane handheld torch found at Menards . My technique is a little different than Jeff’s approach . I thoroughly clean clip and run paper clip through center hole and lock other end of clip to my vise . I only heat the backside of clip , starting at bottom and heat till red ...

Re: Show your mods!
Finally decided to take the appearance of my first Manix 2 into my own hands. I'm not a fan of bright polished clips on my pocket knives, as I feel it draws more attention to what I'm carrying. I figured I could try heat-coloring a stainless clip with relatively low risk, and yep: It was super easy ...
