Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Putt’n up a couple dozen ears of corn for the long winter 🥶

The good old basic VG10 Endura cut right through it all and is still screaming sharp! 😙

Re: Have you ever sold a Spyderco, regretted it and bought a replacement later on

Yup -back in the day I bought an original Worker, Lil Temperance,, Calypso, DoDo, a Black Hawk, etc... And the sold them each for an amazing- outrageous price of ... around $80

Ive tried to buy some of them again - but just cant rationalize the prices ....

Re: US Spyderco Meet

ah heck - Have it in Colorado Springs - just down the road, it really is in the mountains and it would get the staff out for a break. Colorado Springs also has a nice sized airport !

And have it at The Broadmoor ! (the rest of us can stay at the Best western or Motel 6...)

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

That’s a much improved Manix! The yellow just does not do it for me - especially for the $$$ - regardless of the steel … or perhaps because of the steel 🤨

Now it looks sweet and like a knife worth the money.

Re: Advice for a non knife guy...

If PM2 - I agree with others - the wonder of Cruwear would not be appreciated by a non knife guy. S45v - that would be a much better PM2

Or heck - for a starter go Delica VG10, or perhaps a Sage to play with (great flipper) and see where that takes him. He can mess them up, loose them ... and it ...

Re: Do I really need a Sage 5 if I already own a Para 3

for me "Do I really need a Sage 5 if I already own a Para 3" - the answer is no.

Ive had both and just prefer a solid G10 para 3. compact and tough - in Maxamet of course!

I have had my Manix 2XL Snaked Crucarta with my Police4 and my DogTag Spyderco, suspect to the Elmax Mule may come on board once I figure the little munchkin belt clip/loop where it fits over my 1.75" heavy duty belt.

Thats nice - might have to give that look a try :cheap-sunglasses

Yes - longer blade and This! “ …increase lockbar access just a bit…”.

Heck ya! The lock bar access was terrible - I sold mine because of it. Sure you could modify yourself, or use the “finger nail” approach - but why? Just fix the lock.

Re: Easiest Sharpening Spyderco Steel

I find that with my skills - S30V and VG10 sharpen up pretty easily. Now as noted this is a keep it sharp sharpening - not a dull knife to sharp activity. I just hit the sharp maker (medium) every couple of days/uses

Cruwear and PD#1 stay nicely sharp too - but again I’m not letting them get dull

Re: Last Minute Decision

I’d second Jebs ideas - depends how much stomping you have to do.

Here would be my combination - if there was not too much hiking. The Kukri would attach to the pack.

Re: Another thread for discussing a Chaparral XL - now that it came one step closer to become a reality

For names I agree Chaparral XL needs more juice

Along the line of biome -

Montane” borrowed from Latin montānus "of the mountains, living in the mountains

Montane ecosystems are found on the slopes of mountains. Given the location of Spyderco this might be a consideration
