Re: Red & Black Holiday Sale!

The site is working great! A bit disappointed in the selection, was hoping for some Salts or K390.

I couldn’t charge my card fast enough if there was a Sage 5 LW in MagnaCut

Re: Pick One Favorite.

Torn here between a Dragonfly (ZDP or K390) or the Stretch 2 in K390. Very different size wise. For me, I’m probably leaning Dragonfly

Re: K390 Worth it?

Adding to the chorus here, but K390 is my favorite steel. I really like the patina you can get, mine won't rust unless you're using it on the water or live in a coastal climate and do not keep it maintained, and the cutting performance is fantastic. Couple that with a much easier sharpening experien...

Re: What exclusive would you like to see?

I wish they did more 52100/peel ply carbon fiber combos, especially with full SE. I'd really love a Native 5/Chief/Shaman in this combo. Totally agree here. 52100 is such a unique tool steel in the lineup, I think it adds good diversity. Would love to see any of Stretch 2, Endela, Para 3 LW, or Nat...

Amazing collection, welcome! Curious to hear — looks like you have mainly PE. What do you prefer about PE over SE, or vice versa?

Re: why so few Stretch 2 color variations?

The magnacut (linered) bright yellow one should be easy to see in the field and stream! Yes! Being a Seki model I don’t know if it’d be possible, but a yellow Salt Stretch 2 LW MagnaCut would be maybe the ultimate hunting knife. I’ll say it again here. If every model had their base color be white, ...

Re: Para 3 Lovefest, Where Did It Go?

I’ve not been on the forum long enough to comment on any changes to the Para 3’s popularity here. However, within my own collection, the G10 model suffers from carrying essentially the same as a PM2, a thick blade stock, and lacking the length of the PM2. Since I have no legal restriction on the siz...

Re: Lightweight Native 5

I’ve oiled FRN natives. I only had a 5 for a little while but my 4’s are fine, rivets and all. You could try a tiny amount of lithium grease. But I suspect you’re just tightening it too much. That's another likely possibility. Came home with this LW today, and it's smooth as silk. https://i.imgur.c...

Re: Biggest gap in the Spyderco lineup?

I'd like a smaller sheepsfoot knife. The Atlantic Salt is enormous and I find the blade style useful. A small and thin knife from Golden would also be nice. Lil' Native LW might fit this, but I haven't seen the specs for that yet. A larger (3") version of the Dragonfly with a high edge hardnes...

Re: Biggest gap in the Spyderco lineup?

I think the biggest gap is: thin in the pocket slicey folders with a good blade to weight ratio.(skinny knives with a minimal pocket footprint). Some sprints and colabs are, but in terms of regular production spyderco knives there isn’t much there to compete with the likes of a benchmade bugout or ...

Re: Biggest gap in the Spyderco lineup?

I also want to point out and acknowledge that Spyderco already spoils us with the number of choices. I am very thankful for that. It's pretty impressive to see the Spyderco display cabinets at shows which contain all or most of the whole catalog. They make a whole lot of stuff. I'm certain that whe...

Re: Biggest gap in the Spyderco lineup?

8< ----- To get us started, I would love to see three new things: A larger (3") version of the Dragonfly with a high edge hardness/retention tool steel. Preferably still as thin as possible. I know the Caly Jr. is a past favorite, but unfortunately they are no longer in production. Like others...

Re: Biggest gap in the Spyderco lineup?

We need way more knives like the Pingo, Lava, Techno, and hopeful Microjimbo. Small yet absurdly capable. That is Lil Big Knife City. Can go clipless in pocket but definitely not a full size knife. I really like having the option of in the pocket carry. Basically the J Frame revolver of folders I l...

Re: Biggest gap in the Spyderco lineup?

- Chaparral XL or new model with its thin (2mm) ffg blade, its also thin handle and its great backlock in about Endela size Maybe "slicey folder" is a gap. Spyderco doesn't tend to make particularly slicey knives. They cut pretty well, but all would cut better with 1 mm less stock thickne...

Re: Biggest gap in the Spyderco lineup?

There are gaps in Spyderco's lineup? What? No Litlr Lil Native or Jumbo Native Chief? :winking-tongue Honestly, there are times when I'm overwhelmed by all the models and variations. So personally, I don't think there needs to be more hair splitting. I do welcome new models but I'd much rather see ...
