Re: Manbug broken screw
Hi Warstein,
Thanks for the reply.
I will try to post pics a bit later.
This is actually the pivot screw. I finally removed the "tube" it screws into. And it seems the screw broke into it.
As Dan advise, I will start with the customer service.

Manbug broken screw
Hello,
I received a Manbug VG10 Wharcliff from a reputable shop but unfortunately the backlock was not working.
Sending it back was 50% of the knife price so the seller proposed to reimburse 50% and I could try fixing it.
It was easier and could be a fun project so I accepted.

Re: Getting Full Value from Your Blade Length
FWIW, I am not an expert, a sharpener or a heavy user by any mean. But I'd take more edge at all time.
The point about "under-sharpened" bit of the edge being better than sharpening choil makes sense to me.
I just got a Native 5 Salt. I like it but I dont think I'll really ever warm up to any ...

Re: Janky grind on K390 Delica Wharncliffe
FWIW, i am not a heavy user. I just happen to like knives and own mostly Spydercos. I dont want/cant buy too many and try to diversify to try different models. I am not into comparing steels.
The Delicas is the only one I own more than one. All bought in 2023.

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?
I have been living in the UK 15+ years and I am a citizen now. But I never carry more than a medium sized SAKs ( Climber, Cadet, Sportsman...+ a Classic/Rambler). I have a UKPK but I dont need and dont wanna risk it.
It is probably over conservative but I go by easily with this set up.

Spydiechef XL
A mini version could be welcomed as well.
With FRN handles to get the cost and weight down would be appreciated.

Re: Browsing through the product guide: The two middle ground models that are still missing imo
I would think most people would agree that knife "sizes" are subjectives (S, M, L not the actual size obviously).
So this is important when using them to put that into context.
Warstein, being a generous man with words, gave us 2 knives everybody here know and ask for a "medium" size knife between ...

Re: Browsing through the product guide: The two middle ground models that are still missing imo
I could definitely go for an Endela Salt.
Now, a size that I am surprised is not available on the main Spyderco range is something like the Resilience.
It seems that there is a lot of people who like the bigger sizes on this forum and they may go for that.
I would 100% buy a Resilience Salt ...

Bolster I wrote down some emotions I was feeling. I mean what better to graphically represent than emotions right. I noticed there was a point where things escalated.

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!
Are you saying edge retention is good but wear resistance is bad as it affects ease of sharpening without improving edge retention?
If yes, what would examples of stainless steels that have decent edge retention but low wear resistance? spy 27?
I'm simply saying wear resistance CAN ...

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!
Yes on s90v....and s30v is hardly any "tougher" than S110V or S90V. The whole reason why s35vn happened is because people in the beginning deemed s30v too brittle and chippy. s30v was marketed in the beginning as being as "tough" as a spring steel but also having high edge retention ...

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!
Am I going to run into the same problem with S90V and chipping?
I have a Shaman in S30V and am really wondering if that's the way to go here.

Fumny you'd know Lorenzi! Austrian (my homecountry) dealer, I mentioned them quite recently in the "Crazy good deals European edition" thread.
They have for example still ZDP Enduras i srock.
I spent 24h in Vienna in May. I googled for Spyderco dealer more for fun than thinking I'd find ...
