Re: Salt steels for pool/chlorinated water.?

I think the chlorine concentration would have a lot to do with it. I've never had an issue with any steel in chlorinated water. Not enough chlorine to matter unless you store your knives in your pool long term and that would be odd.

Re: H1 Fixed blades

One day I want to buy an Aqua Salt. Something always comes along that I need more, so I still haven't gotten one. One day. If I ever come across one in our neck of the woods I’ll let you know 👍🏻 Thanks. It will be expensive . I just got a nice one on eBay. The thing feels and looks slick. I think I...

Re: Serrated Edge for Hunting?

I feel a plain edge cuts thru muscle much cleaner. The serrated edge leaves a rough cut on meat. IMO, muscle meat is soft enough to not require a serrated edge. I use a plain edge Shaman in S90V for my game management.

Re: This knife should be in production…My dream hunting knife put together.

I use a deep carry on this knife for a very specific reason and its not to conceal the knife. When wearing my rifle on a shoulder sling, I found the butt end of my rifle stock would tap against the top of the exposed portion of the knife when using a regular clip. Using this deep carry clip elimina...

Nice knife indeed (except I personally am not into deep carry clips), thanks for sharing! :clinking-mugs I use a deep carry on this knife for a very specific reason and its not to conceal the knife. Re: This knife should be in production…My dream hunting knife put together.

Nice knife indeed (except I personally am not into deep carry clips), thanks for sharing! :clinking-mugs But for hunting: Wouldn´t the thinner Bodacious blade be even better? (I am not a hunter (harder to become here in middle Europe than in most of the US), so this is really more a question than a...

This knife should be in production…My dream hunting knife put together.

I finally had the time, patience and money to put together what I have in my mind as the best all around folding hunting knife. I had to have a Shaman because of its perfect ergos and thick robust blade. S90V is my favorite steel to work with and this knife had to be blaze orange, so I Frankensteine...

Re: Catcherman LC200N Sprint Run

I just got back from a trip to Florida where I got to do a lot of surf fishing. I absolutely killed the Pampano in Destin, FL. I have had an OG Catcherman that was just collecting dust as I always just default to my regular fixed blade AFTCO 7” filet knife, so I decided to see how it actually worked...

The blade finish on the Techno 2 is the best i've ever seen. Why this wasn't used on the Drunken is beyond me.

What is the best application to tool steel for long term storage?

I have a lot of knives, specifically a lot of Spyderco tool steel blades. I store my "safe queens" in their original boxes, usually with OEM desiccant bags in the boxes. I also have larger desiccant bags in the safe to help prevent corrosion. Although I take these precautions, I from time ...
