I found a few 3/8" brass ball bearing sleeves, they were about $2/pc at Ace. I had tried to set them using epoxy an then expanding them into place using a press. However, since i hadn't annealed the brass prior to, one of them did split slightly. Sorry I have so many questions. I would do same...

One more mule, this time in SPY27 with Maple and blue epoxy scales Dialed in shape of the scales a lot more on these and feels much better in hand. Tried setting the brass inserts and pushed a little harder than necessary, cracked the rear... still learning, but enjoying the process So how do those...

One more mule, this time in SPY27 with Maple and blue epoxy scales
Dialed in shape of the scales a lot more on these and feels much better in hand.
Tried setting the brass inserts and pushed a little harder than necessary, cracked the rear... still learning, but enjoying the process

First time ever making scales for any knife.
Finally got around to trying to craft some scales out of the SPY27 as a groomsman/new dad gift for a buddy of mine, had a small little oopsie, did a little blue flake epoxy Kintsugi. I think it came out really well.
