Count me in if this happens.

Not that I can see it happening. :-/

Re: Manix 2 LW ball bearing replacement

Wow, this is all rather interesting (and helpful). Thanks. For some reason I thought (potentially incorrectly) that the Magnacut Salt was screwed construction. But I’m not sure I’ve scrutinised the photos closely! it is screwed construction. Thanks, I enjoy having my preconceived notions reinforced.

Re: Manix 2 LW ball bearing replacement

Would coating reduce the possibility of issues with any “hardness mismatch” between the ball and the blade? Or would this depend on how hard the coating is? I must say I don’t really know what happens at the interface between coating and underlying material. I also suppose I don’t know if a “hardnes...

Re: Manix 2 LW ball bearing replacement

Thanks.

Do the Lightweights also take a 3/16” ball? Just like the G10s?

What do they use in the Salt models? If it’s steel is it just a steel with high corrosion resistance…?

Manix 2 LW ball bearing replacement

Hi all,

Putting aside the merits of replacing ball bearings in Manixes, is it possible to get a replacement ball bearing for a Manix 2 LW?

If so, what kind of ball bearing diameter is required?

I know the G10 Manix 2 is a 3/16”…

Thanks!

I got one. Smooth transaction.

Maybe the expense is indeed keeping demand down? Plus the fact that it’s a large run.

Re: MagnaWear Easter Egg?

i remember seeing magnawear and magnatuff brought up in the past. i thought i saw in an article that he was going to continue development, so it shouldn't be surprising really. i haven't been able to use my one magnacut blade (mule) as much as i'd like, but i've liked it so far and i'm hoping to ge...

I’m waiting for more steel options. Predictable. Haha.

But yes, this probably appeals to me more than the Shaman.

Will the Manix 2 Salt be “disassemblable” for maintenance?

Yes.
Thanks.

Yeah, I guess I shoulda known from looking at the photo in the catalogue…

Yeah, I guess everything is coming soon! Haha. I hope I can manage to snag a MT or two, but website traffic is gonna be heavy.

Re: Reveal 14 Live!

What a reveal!

I might need to pick up a Manix 2 Salt +/- Crucarta and will definitely need to pick up a Mule Team or two. Stay out of my way, people. Please…

Anyone care to speculate as to when MT40 will drop?

Of the options, Native 5.

But I’d be excited to see a Wharncliffe. Maybe a Lil’ Native Wharncliffe?

This is a pretty classy response from Kristi and the Spyderco team.

I hope it proves possible to improve things for future sales!

Potential for other models to come in 15V

Hi all, Apologies if the link doesn’t work or isn’t allowed. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvXjxP-MLrv/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== But it seems to add weight to suspicions that 15V will see future usage… From my very ignorant point of view, it would seem to make sense. After all, a fair bit of R&D...

Re: Spyderco Seconds Sale Scores

Interesting to see what’s left. And the thread got slightly heated, I see. As someone who was not at all inconvenienced, it does seem there is room for improvement and I would hope that CQI applies to the website. Congratulations to the purchasers. Seems like there were bargains to be had. I wouldn’...

Is there going to be a Blue Nishijin S2XL with CruWear blade?
Possibly. It depends on whether I like the damascus or the silver CruWear better with the Nishijin scales. ;)
Hmm. Nicely played.

The Dutch meet preview had me confused…

Re: Reveal 13 Live!

Quite expensive, but I'm sure it was quite a feat getting the 31 layer damascus into this package. Eric also mentioned in the KnifeCenter Blade Show (2023) video that this Nishijin is the last of the stock that they have from ~15 years ago and is the exact same that has been featured in all of the ...

Re: Reveal 13 Live!

I probably would have gone with BD1N or LC200N, but S30V is fine for the role of a part time SD & utility knife. Some people can make it rust which is why I would have selected a more rust resistant steel. Also a fair point. Goes to show that there are all kinds of alloys for all kinds of appli...
