Re: What is your favorite high Carbon non stainless steel?
Ah that brings a question to mind how is K390 in an SE blade?
It holds up great, and the grind of the SE K390 knives is very thin with small serrations so they cut extremely well over a large variety of tasks.
Reprofiling or taking out significant damage is tough though. You can touch them up ...

Re: Caly 3.5 K390 (& polished denim micarta)
For those who haven’t held a Caly 3.5, these is something special about it. It feels both ultra-refined, yet also unrefined, but in a good way. The carbon fiber handles are super precise and crisp, but flat. The pivit is machined beautifully, and yet sticks up proud - none of this is a critique, I ...

Re: Balance G10/SPY27 Sprint Review: An all-time great LBK, but probably not for everyone
Thanks for reviewing this! The design looks like a really great utility cutter with that negative blade angle. Glad you got one and have been able to put it to use. Compared to a similarly small hawkbill, do you think the blade more easily slips out of utility draw cuts like separating cardboard ...

Re: Native 5 - Back Lock Quality Issues
Thanks for posting an update on this OP. And I'm sorry for the bad experience - I totally understand that paying almost $200 for something that doesn't meet expectations is a huge downer. I'm glad things got resolved with the original vendor and I hope the new one you ordered serves you well.

Re: Need help about Delica one
I haven't seen any gen 1 Delicas without the "patents" text on the clip, but this looks like a perfectly legitimate first gen delica! My assumption is that some models were produced without the text on the clip, likely during one of the transitions in clip styles - the integral FRN clip was actually ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
So nice!^^^
Do those have liners?
It has little "mini" liners that reinforce the pivot and lockbar pin, but they don't extend down the handle past that. I haven't disassembled mine yet, but this video shows the design:

Re: PM2 tip strength
It doesn't need to be an intentional prying action. In theory, accidental torque may cause it. Imagine cutting something in a normal fashion and the tip somehow gets stuck in the material. If you try to pull it out and are at an angle at bit off of the cut line, you may apply that accidental ...

Re: Saber grind Manix 2 s30v vs 154cm
What years were the s30v saber grind Manix 2 made?
I have some 154cm ones and a bunch of flat grind s30v ones but have only seen a few s30v saber grind ones
I believe the 154CM version was in production from 2009-12, and then they were briefly produced in S30V in 2012-13 before moving to the ...
