Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!
Just ordered that Police 4 K390 from National. Totally was not on my radar but I did want a larger SE like a Pacific Salt for yard/rougher use. For $112 shipped, I think this will more than fit the bill as K390 is awesome just as long as the knife is not too huge. I do have CBN rods on my Sharpmake...

You have to admit, the microfiber towels are a really nice touch and as you have already said, National is my first stop when I get the itch!

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!
Plus 1. National Knives is the first place I check for "Crazy Good Deals" and Rob goes above and beyond on customer service. I'm certain he personally checks each knife before it goes out the door, as I have often found "tactical peanuts" inside the Spyderco box to keep the knif...

When I have the pockets, I carry 3! Small, medium, and large, and at least 1 SE.

After a re-profile it will still make for a good usable knife

And I also have an S35vn Resilience coming from National. My first and couldn't resist it at 85.00. I had been looking at getting one for about 3 months now and I waited just long enough.

Well the Caribbeans are like totally different knives now. Along with the Frost Grey Dyemore done earlier this week. When new you could shake the blades out. I never trusted them in my pocket. One's in my pocket right now though!

Re: I have to be honest, flipper detents need to be stronger.
I just used the bit on the left in a pin vise to do my caribbeans. Worked perfectly. Take your time and eyeball the fit by hand after each round of turns to see your progress. https://www.harborfreight.com/diamond-point-rotary-bit-set-20-piece-69653.html I plan on doing a couple shamans next. Those...

Re: Blade Length vs Edge Length - Why does it matter?
When I leave the house I always assume that any LEO will measure from the tip to the farthest back they can get that looks like blade and not necessarily follow the AKTI standards The stats you see on-line from manufacturers normally measure from the tip to heel where the blade meets the handle usin...

Re: Spyderco liner locks
I have a couple Militaries and one Tenacious and both locks are excellent! Especially the Military. But I also agree, I tend to shy away from most liner locks and have very few frame locks, but of course they are very popular. AND thanks for the search tip. Just tested and I love it!

Re: Spyderco Caribbean on Sale
The only modifications I’ve done so far are sanding the surface of the scales and trying to gently adjust the detent to make it slightly stronger. I don’t really like that the scales are polished. There is of course the milled grooves, but the surface is polished g10. It makes it feel slippery, esp...

Re: Military 2 and sliverax update
I fixed the detent on both of my Caribbean's yesterday. Harbor Freight Diamond Point Rotary Bit Set. Took about 30 left/right twists by hand (firm but not hard) with the bit on the left. I kept fitting the ball into the detent hole until it was about half farther in than the original fit. Don't get ...

Re: Spyderco Seconds Sale Scores
Received my two yesterday evening. All black Military has the tiniest edge nick about an inch from the tip of the blade. First sharpening and it will be gone. The Massad Ayoob SE for sure has the "snaggletooth". I don't mind and it cuts like crazy, and I mean sharp. Other than mentioned no...

Hey Vivi, Talking' Story: FYI, Spyderco was scheduled to make a knife for Bob Taylor's REKAT company designed by Bram Frank, called the "Escalator". We were going to use Bob's "Rolling Lock' which he invented, A very nice lock invention. After we began engineering the model, Bob Tayl...

Re: Spyderco Seconds Sale Scores
I scored a Massad Ayoob SpyderEdge Sprint Run and Military Model G-10 Black Blade. The key for me was to keep hitting reload every time that screen popped up until it moved on to the next screen. When I got to the payment screen and the reload screen didn't come up I hit the browser refresh button a...
