Re: PM2 tip strength
Along with the utility it is cosmetic and psychological for me.
To me thick = survive the apocalypse tool and thin= snap and break.
I feel a thicker blade is me getting more material for the cost.
I think this is a logical feeling. They even put weights in Beats headphones to make them ...

While we're waiting, and speaking of Taiwan, have a look at the Watu, the “Taiwanese HP Delica”... :smiling-halo

Re: Real World User Experience Sharpening CPM 15V
Recently I did a 325 dmt edge at around 15dps stropped with 1 micron and .5 micron on both my S30V and 15V lil natives and then used them together for the past two weeks. I tried my very best to match them cut for cut. A lot of cardboard was cut, and I not only counted cuts but got them out at the ...

... - I am still not convinced that MC is necessarily the better choice over LC 200N for some folks who think this is the case.
But then I am not really in a position to talk about that, since I only know LC but not MC.
It looks like though as if they are both completely rustproof in any not ...

Re: China
Most of the makers are in Yang Jiang, so the city name won't say much.
Eric discussed this with Phil Wilson as the cost of his knives, especially with premium steels, took the models out of reach of many and the beauty of the designs could not be appreciated by as many. Phil's models made in ...

Re: China
Unless Spyderco want to make a political statement by withdrawing from China, I suppose the key questions are whether Spyderco can thrive without having Chinese made products to sell (bearing in mind they may be the gateway into the brand for many), how many potential customers are deterred from ...

Re: What is a "front flipper?"
I've never heard anyone refer to the flipper on a Smock a front flipper, including Ken (nor is it called that in Spyderco's own copy on the page for that knife). In fact, I've never seen anyone attempt to define a flipper that was behind the pivot as a front flipper until this thread.
Agreed. I ...
