Re: Post your Spyderco collection in one picture!
Here's my collection. Small compared to most, but each one is the end result of numerous flips, trades, and bartering work for upgrades.. i.e. you want me to acid etch your blade, I'm going to need a new set of scales.. You want me to Rit dye your scales, I'm going to need some tritium for my lanya...

Re: Anyone Else Up For a Resilience in CPM-M4?
Yes, absolutely! I've got the S35VN version and love it! I didn't really like the blue, so I dyed the scales black. But it's great for when I feel like carrying a larger folder. And I love M4. I've got the GB2 folder and that is fantastic steel. And if they did it in micarta or G10 instead of FRN it...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Today I used my Native5 to open the packaging my latest Spyderco came in. Lol! (Shaman 15V, oh yeah!) I did, however, use my Manix2 to cut open a bunch of bags of mulch a couple days ago. Definitely came in handy for that.

That's hilarious! So true!Notsurewhy wrote: βSat Mar 02, 2024 1:37 pmIf the hollow grind on that second one was real it would meet in the middle long before the edge (based on the apparent stock thickness at the spydie hole).
AI seems pretty heavy on the A and light on the I so far.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Just dyed the scales on my Maxa-Manix. So I had to carry it today. It was a little nerve wracking doing the dye job since it's the riveted model. Had to do it with the blade in. I made sure to oil the blade and pivot before starting. Then placed the knife over a heater vent to dry it. It seems to ha...

Another one of my favorite 'others'. The Giant Mouse Nimbus in Elmax. I just got the LynchNW clip for it. Really good hard working knife.

Re: Why is 1095 steel popular amongst knife makers?
It's already been said, but yeah, its cheap and easy to work with. It blows me away when I see $200+ knives made from 1095. I could care less how good someone is at blade smithing, no knife made of 1095 is worth that much. That's like paying $50 for a McDonalds cheeseburger. (Which I suppose isn't t...

This is one my favorite non Spydercos. The Kizer October in 20CV. Not one I would pick for hard use, but it'll cut cardboard til the cows come home, lol
