Re: Spyderco Black Friday Map Holiday Sales 2023!

I remember SMKW had the new, still unreleased, Magnacut Salt Para 3 on sale but unavailable over the BF weekend. It was $115 or so, unfortunately there was no way to pre order or rain check it for that price! I thought it was odd they’d put a knife on sale that hadn’t been released.

Is this the thickest blade ever made with this material? The kitchen knives look really slim compared to the stats here.

Would take original
Salt would be cool
Don’t think waved is needed
I agree, wave can be added after the fact. Let’s keep it simple to produce.

Re: What’s the Hold Up ????

Knife Center, why does anyone have them in Stock?? KC always gets stuff last it seems when I preorder it, I end up buying it else where and cancelling. Don’t say that! I have a pre-order for the Para 3 salt. I hope they get them soon. I was going to go with BHQ, but procrastination set in.

Re: MagnaWear Easter Egg?

Wow! Larrin has said that the next theoretical step would be to add more vanadium to Magnacut for higher edge retention. If this is real, I can't wait to see the toughness and corrosion resistance. I was hoping he drop some Tungsten into the mix! We don't know what's in the mix yet, but for what pu...

Re: Would this work, Wharncliff Manix?

How about this with a new lock? https://www.spyderco.com/pix/products/large/C248CF_L.jpg Good find! I forgot about that one. That looks like it would do the job, the blade shape is perfect. Also, make it easier on Spyderco and fore go the mid blade grinds and go thick the whole length. Drop the Man...

I am sure I could break it down more but this is pretty simple way I look at sizing. I am sure I could add a XS and XL category too.
I would agree with this.

Re: Would this work, Wharncliff Manix?

A wharncliffe Manix could work but I would question Spyderco’s willingness to produce it. Re-using a pic Vivi posted in another thread: I am sure too it could work, but they´d probably have modify the backspacer at least in the lightweight so that the wharnie-blade would fit in properly. Don´t know...

Would this work, Wharncliff Manix?

I’m thinking that a Wharncliff blade in a Manix would not only look good but be at a good cutter too. I’m not that big of a Wharncliff fan but I think it would work. In the past here (2020?) this idea was brought up in a post but wanting it as a Salt. Salt or not, am I crazy?

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..

Tried using Dyemore apricot orange to do a fade to white but messed up. When I was dunking the scales the dye splashed on the white so at that point I just put them all the way in. Definitely mixed more dye then needed making it too dark. Not really what I was going for but it looks good. https://i...
