Re: Coloring scales with Tulip fabric paint
My thoughts exactly about the holes for the hardware. I'm sure the paint could be sanded, but that might mess up the whole look. Rather than using the paint to completely coat the scales, its best use might be to stencil a design or add second a contrasting color, in which case the holes could just ...

Coloring scales with Tulip fabric paint
Has anyone ever tried using a Tulip fabric paint on knife scales? I didn't find any first-hand accounts online from people who'd used Tulip products on G10 or FRN, but the spray paint in particular seemed like it MIGHT work:

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..
I am really surprised to see it removed that much of the color. That's awesome it did, for sure. I really like the natural jade color scales, I have been trolling dangerously close to two different knives online that are second hand that are in the natural jade color.
I need to quit trolling ...

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..
These are the results of my Rit un-dye project, the correction of a dye job that I just didn't come out the way I wanted it to. I used a single packet of Rit dye color remover powder in about 2.5 cups of water, simmered as close to the suggested 200° F as I could keep it for exactly 20 minutes, and ...

What's this little hole in my Yojumbo blade?
Like the title says. I'm just curious, and after I put the Yojumbo back together I saw that when the blade is open, the mystery hole lines up precisely with the holes on the scales and liners drilled for the center screw when the pocket clip is configured for tip-down. In other words, there's T6 ...

Re: Beware: more Ebay Counterfeits
Carbon stainless steel? Look at the box!! It just says SPY!! The sad thing is that 3 people actually bought this!
I might be giving too much credit to those three people, but I would imagine the price clued them in to the fact that they weren't buying an authentic product. Apparently some ...

Re: Return of Lum Tanto
Props to BladeHQ and USPS, got one in hand two days after my order. I was very excited about a tanto blade as I find it to be a super useful profile, and not too many Spyderco tantos out there.
Unfortunately I think I am going to send this one back, and I'm not sure if I'll re-order. A few ...

Re: Official Petition for a Premium Tenacious
[I've been debating making a frankenstein Tenacious with an M4 blade and titanium body, but that would be a nearly $300 knife after taxes, and that feels just a little...excessive. Or a little expensive to be more accurate, which isn't logical because I'm planning to spend $249.95 × 2 for two of the ...

Re: KW CTS-204P Forest Green G10 Manix 2
Mine arrived late last week. The scales were a little more...grey, maybe?...than what I think of as a true "forest green," but regardless, I like them quite a bit. And I'm excited to have a Manix in 204P to compare to my 20CV Manix. Everyone says the steels are identical, but maybe that .05% extra ...

Re: The Endela: A great knife that arrived 19 years too late
I love my K390 wharncliffe Endela, especially since I put on micarta scales from suingab, who is the only real option for Endela scales at the moment. Demand for aftermarket scales could be one measure of Endela's popularity with the general knife-buying population, which doesn't seem to be terribly ...

Knifeworks Manix 2 Exclusive
Despite being on Knifeworks email list and having the Spyderco app, I somehow hadn't heard this one:

Re: MT41P - VG XEOS Mule Team Dropping Soon
Am I crazy or are the edges on the handle/tang of this VG XEOS mule a bit more rounded than those of past versions? It feels different and a little more comfortable in the hand. I suppose it won't matter once I get the scales on it, and I also suppose I could compare the handle/tang of the new mule ...

Re: MT41P - VG XEOS Mule Team Dropping Soon
Got 2, I figure rather than paying shipping, I'll just pay a little more for another knife.
Oh yeah, I almost always avoid the $13 shipping charge by spending $75+ on another knife. It's not really the most sound financial strategy, but it's a fantastic way to justify purchasing another knife ...

@Hatuletoh we view this as trademark infringement. Plain and simple.
Sal and Gail founded Spyderco nearly 50 years ago. Spyderco has worked very hard over decades to build our reputation (one that is, by and large, viewed in a very trusted, positive light). We take enormous pride in working for ...

Ethical question
The opinion of anyone who cares to weigh in on this topic is quite welcome, but if a Spyderco representative takes a position I'll accept his/her judgment as the final word.

I have no interest in a an 8Cr13MoV Tenacious, but I would certainly love one with a titanium frame lock. If the blade from M4 Tenacious model can be swapped out for the 8Cr13MoV blade on the upcoming titanium model, I might just have to spend about $300 to frankenstein me up a monster of a ...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
If not a Spyderco, then I'm most likely to have ain my pocket a Microtech Ultratech, UTX-85, or lately an MSI--that's their new manual design with the RAM-Lok mechanism, the Microtech version of, and improvement over, the Axis lock. I also have a couple Kizers that I'm fond of, a small Sabenza that ...
