Re: Trying to make Q-ball scales

I love this project. The ball cage makes the BBL much more finger friendly. I don't know why Spyderco hasn't CQI'd this change themselves.

What's up with this listing for multiple G10 Police on ebay? Complete fake or aftermarket scales added to a real Police?

Re: Bodacious Thoughts

There isn't a 1-to-1 replacement for G10 Bodacious scales.

Rockscale: same pattern but in Ti.
AWT: diff pattern and in Aluminum.
RGT: diff pattern. Many materials.
Lynch: diff pattern and in Ti.
RC Bladeworks: No G10. Same pattern or skinny.

Re: Handle Scale Vendors

@RadioactiveSpyder Thanks for posting. Nice to see the GB2 getting some Ti love, even if the timing is a bit off.

Is there any better access to the lock bar? Do you have a picture from the back showing the "single liner-delete" and the "additional thickness of Ti"?

Re: Spyderco Delivered and Upcoming *discussion*

My Starmate arrived today and I am very pleased with it. I have a few comparison photos with the GB2 for VandymanG .

The pocket clip sits at about the same height.

Blade is a good bit thicker on the Starmate and the swedge has a hard edge where the GB2 is nicely radiused.

The Starmate is 10x ...

Re: Prices OMG Seriously?

My only question is why a PM2 REX-121 is $265, while the Sage 6 REX-121 is $427? That’s a large price difference and not sure why.

Probably the same reason several other exclusives have been at or below the price of the black G10/S30V base model... the dealer entered into a contract with ...

Agreed, keep the liners. Would love SPY27 or other stainless. Satin, not coated.

Re: Counter mat availability?

What do you mean by "counter mat"? Big mouse pad lookin' thing with the Spyderco logo? They were selling them at the Spyderco booth at Blade Show Atlanta. I bought one.
Similar to that one but with a different design on them. Also they’re two different sizes, one is the same size as the BLADE ...

Re: Current line-up, what should I add?

Based on your list, here's what I came up with, in no particular order:

Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2 - Liner lock. Good stout user of a knife.
AWT scales for your G10 Manix - Lighter. Still sturdy.
Spyderco Chaparral C152SGY - Excellent EDC backlock.
Spypderco Stretch 2 - Mid-size backlock. Drop-point ...

Hi Riclaw,

The Edgerati has a cut out. 22mm long, mm deep, curved.

Hi Sal,

Thank you for clarifying. Was there ever a point in development when the Edgerati didn't have a cutout? Are there any other fun stories you can share involving the creation of the Edgerati and it's siblings?

Re: Siren: flawed design or am I just dumb

I chose to add a sharpening choil. It moves the edge far enough out that it doesn't close on my finger. No need to change how I go about closing a backlock knife.

Edgerati omitted the cutout, at least at one point in its design... check the second picture in Post #1:
