This is gonna retire a couple of non-Spydie fixies from my rotation. Can't wait!

Re: Titanium Tenacious

Oh, I'm grabbing them for sure. And I think keeping them in 8Cr was a genius move. Now people can get one of Sal's most iconic designs in a sexy Ti/RIL configuration without investing in sharpening systems that cost more than the knife. Anyone can maintain 8Cr, and it performs better than most of us...

Re: What is the single best spyderco configuration you own?

PM2 CruCarta.

If the Native 5 could be done as a CruCarta it would take 1st position. My fave N5s are the KC CruWear/Smooth Black G10 exclusives.

Would be nice if there were some N5 production version using CruWear.

Re: Spyderco Groom carry suggestions

Congrats!

The Chap in BM or RN would be great choices. I would, however, go with the Native 5 in Carbon Fiber and S30V.

Easy to imagine all three being passed on to your grandchildren and commemorating the day quite well.

Re: Why is the Kapara so overlooked ?

One of Spyderco's best collaborations. Great design and execution. No issue for me with the comp lock.

Price is more than fair, and I hope Mr Phillips made some nice coin on it. It's a special knife even for Spyderco, and that's a high bar to clear.

Re: Para 3 Lightweight Salt first impressions

I also do not care about perfect blade centering, but I've never had one from Spyderco that was so far off I felt the need to adjust. I have had to center a few other knives from other brands that were waaay off, but it is pretty easy to do. My PARA 3 Salt arrived perfectly centered. I went back and...

Re: Para 3 Lightweight Salt first impressions

The original PARA 3 LW was my first Spyderco knife, so it holds a special place in my heart. After rolling the blade out and gripping it for the first time I instantly "got it" with the whole Spyderco thing. It went from "weird looking knife" to a masterwork of design follows fun...

Re: Question about lanyard holes.........

I use lanyards on smaller knives to extend the grip, but mostly I use them on all folding knives to make it easier to extract them from my pocket.

I make all of my own from paracord.

Team Lanyard Hole for me.

Re: New PM2 question

The few times I've had an issue getting the pivot action where I want it without blade play on a PM2 I found the culprit is always the body screw nearest the pivot. Make sure to use a good quality T8 Torx bit, loosen it a bit, adjust the pivot until it is where you want the action, then add some blu...

Re: My First Bento Box Shop Experience

I have the Para 3 K390, and was fine with the cost considering the exclusive and the nature of their available stock. There's a cost involved in having stuff like that on the shelves.

Other than wishing their website was designed in the 21st Century, I had no problems with the purchase.

Re: Is there a quintessential Spyderco?

For me it would be the Native 5. It's the model (and family of models) that seems to be the heart and soul of Spyderco.

There's a good argument for the Endura & Military families as well.

From a general perception angle, it's the PM2 by a mile.

Re: Boating and lanyards

Tie a noose knot at the end of a paracord lanyard and slip your wrist through it when in use. At least it will be tethered when you are using it. I have one that I keep around for the rare times I'm up a ladder using a blade. The end that attaches to the knife is a simple bowline knot that I slip th...

Re: Seki City back lock quality in 2022?

I started buying Seki models in 2022, and they have all been perfect. One exception was a Delica Wharnie K390 that still had a burr, but was easily fixed. Mine is a sample of over 25 knives.

You should offer this to Rockwell Industries for their Turbo Encabulator. It could solve the issues they have with the pre-famulated amulite. No more side fumbling of the lunar waneshaft!

I have all you mentioned. The pick for me would be Cru-Wear. If you use it a lot, strop it once a week and you will be amazed at the retention and performance.

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!

I have all the other Slysz Spyderco designs, but was gonna pass on this because I figured it couldn't live up to the hype, and it's more than I like to spend on any knife. Glad I didn't pass. It's a wonderful knife, and I thank Knife Joy for keeping it alive.

Re: Knife that screams liner lock got the compression lock - why?

The Comp lock is genius, and I'd prefer it over a liner lock on any model that would work with it. I'm a mid back lock guy, and passed on the Lil' Native Comp in favor of the back lock version, but when KC offered their Cru-Wear / Smooth Black G10 version I couldn't resist. Now I actually prefer the...

So, for the sake of conversation, on the frn version, whaddayouwant? Colors, Steels or specific combinations? sal My first choice would be Cru-Wear, but that has never been used in Taichung as far as I know. M4 was used in the BHQ Sage 5, and that would be a great alt to Cru-Wear. Instant buy. And ...

KnifeCenter Cru-Wear & Smooth Black G10. I have the PM2, PARA3, Native 5, Lil 'Native, Manix 2 XL, and Yo 2. Most in both satin and DLC. Cru-Wear is my fave steel, and the Smooth Black G10 is easy on the pockets and looks great. The ergos of all the models are sufficient such that a grippier sca...
