Re: Sal, where is all the SPY27 steel ?

Ok, it’s decided. I’m gonna wait it out until Delica’s/Endura’s are offered in Spy27. Maybe a little dragonfly too? I almost gave up but now there’s hope. Thank you.

That looks like the one on Etsy too. The spyder’s leg is missing ink on the blade.

Re: Do you usually introduce your partner to carrying a knife at all times?

ladybug is a better knife than the manbug… at least in K390. It has less belly, blade is slicier That's the exact reason I prefer the Ladybug. When riding in this area, cacti are real hazards. When slicing through layers of epidermis in order to remove a sticker or splinter, a pointy blade is FAR b...

Re: Do you usually introduce your partner to carrying a knife at all times?

I probably would start handing out Ladybugs on 2nd dates Manbugs! Manbugs! To let you in on a little secret... I carry a Ladybug when I ride... and there's nothing wrong with that. I honestly feel like the ladybug is a better knife than the manbug… at least in K390. It has less belly, blade is slic...

Re: Do you usually introduce your partner to carrying a knife at all times?

The majority of them have been from beach towns and such. Yeah we all need to add the cell phone to that list. Heh, heh, heh. You're cracking me up, here. The problem is that we gentlemen are always confused about what girls want. On one hand, you're looking for a man who can shave with his Spyderc...

Re: Dragonfly steels… and other things

Thanks for the information! It sounds similar to VG-10. It's not similar to Vg-10. V-Toku2 is non-stainless, a regular carbon steel. VG-10 is a stainless steel and has better edge retention. I would agree that they are similar in that both will take a keen edge without a lot of fuss. To clarify, I ...

Re: Dragonfly steels… and other things

Thanks. I wish I had a couple of those: ZDP-189, K390 (non Wharnie), HAP40, Super Blue, 20CV, and Cruwear. I don’t know a whole lot about VToku2 though. V-Toku2 is a non-stainless low alloy tool steel of Japanese origin that, as far as I am aware, is more commonly used in kitchen knives & occas...

Re: Do you usually introduce your partner to carrying a knife at all times?

I have actually had to introduce boyfriends to carrying knives. It’s kinda sad really. Good for you! Some get education early, but most guys don’t mature until they are in the thirties - Ha! (myself included) I was trained to always have your keys, wallet, pocket knife & lighter at all times - ...

Re: Next Possible Sprint Run, Let's Talk?

maybe try it wherever the other goods aren't? e.g. behind your hip if your glock is appendix carry. Yeah, I will just have an awful lot of stuff on my waist and it gets hard to conceal when waist is relatively small. If I start moving things around then I have to relearn where they are. It seems be...

Re: Next Possible Sprint Run, Let's Talk?

Since I want the largest but most comfortable carry, that means that the majority of my knives are around the 3 inch mark unless I start wearing jeans with deeper/wider pockets. For example, a Stretch 2 is positively uncomfortable in any pant pocket for me, I love that knife but I cannot carry it u...

Re: Next Possible Sprint Run, Let's Talk?

Regarding 2 to 3 inch blades vs >4 inch blades, I’d prefer the largest most comfortable blade just as I would prefer the max amount of ammo in a carry firearm… but it needs to be comfortable and legal for me. I can’t have ANY knives if I’m in a lil cell. So for carry, I’m limited to 4 inches. Since ...

Re: How many knives do you normally carry on you?

A girl with thin long fingers, wearing tight jeans and liking Spyderco knives. Sounds very exciting :winking-tongue One thing I will say for me: I’ve never been described as being boring (except during my day/corporate job but I’m okay with that, lol). And yeah, my thumb isn’t included in the long ...

Re: How many knives do you normally carry on you?

Two. A dragonfly 2 and a delica wharncliff. If not wearing jeans then it’s the chaparral and the dragonfly 2. The dragonfly 2 lives in a secret location. Do tell. I love Dragonflies I think it all depends on body type and hand size. For me, the dragonfly 2 is the smallest ‘deployable’ knife for my ...

Re: Tasman Salt 2 Hardware - black screws/silver backlock?

My recent Tasman Salt 2 is the same as yours and I didn’t get mine from Amazon. Black screws and black clip. Silver back lock / bar.

I kinda wish it had a black back lock / bar but I’d want to keep the black screws. I like it.

I still have my sharpmaker, so I will still try it. However systems where the blade is stationary (and the stones move) work best for me.
