Re: Any Truck Drivers here?
When I was driving truck, or working on them in a repair shop, I used something inexpensive but reliable like an Endura or Delica. I used Mora fixed blades, or something else so inexpensive it was disposable, for anything that might chip an edge. Obviously I wouldn't hesitate to use whatever was in ...

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
I'm really looking forward to the trainer. Many Kali instructors won't allow aluminum training blades, if they get a nick it can make a very sharp spot on the otherwise dull edge. The steel temperance trainer will last the rest of my life.

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
Got mine, so impressive.
The edge bevels looked very small, to my delight it appears that these were made extra thin behind the edge.
The cutting edge grinding was also minimal, almost zero material removed when putting the final edge on. Compared to examples from years ago, when there was ...

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
I keep checking this thread, hoping someone will post the plain edge available at a site I'm unfamiliar with and not keeping an eye on. You could really mess with me if you kept bumping the thread to the top, every time someone posts I whip out my credit card.

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
I think that this version is a nice compliment give the steel. If there is renewed interest in the design, we're already tooled, so any combination of steel/handle color can be done with little engineering.
Given the fantastic design and relatively low price in an era of accelerated inflation ...

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
Still loving my serrated version. I haven't used serrations outside in years but I'm in the jungle now and it cuts through wet vegetation like a laser. Paired with a machete this is going to be my go-to fixed blade for the near-future. No rust either. Is cruwear more stainless than it's chromium ...

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
Got mine, it's lightweight, perfectly balanced, secure in the hand, and the blade looks like it'll cut very very well. Sheath is kydex or boltaron or simlilar - top quality.
One thing - the plain edge portion at the tip has almost zero curve to it, it's almost straight. I'd love to know if anyone ...

Re: Do you clean your micarta scales?
Micarta darkens when it absorbs body oil. Dark micarta = dirty micarta.
My knives get sweaty just from being in my pocket. They get even worse if I use them for something like cutting up bait or in the kitchen. Whatever I'm carrying gets washed twice a month or so or more. Again, like my hat.

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
I was always interested in the fixed temp. I've only tried the folding versions.
Same. Every Kali guy who liked Spyderco (which is all of 3 people but they were very knowledgeable) who I've asked for fixed blade recommendations all said the Temperence fixed blade.
I think it's going to replace ...

Did Spyderco Improve Sharpening at the Factory?
I've purchased 4 Golden made Spydercos recently - a pair each of Bodacious and Microjimbos. All 4 have perfect edges, like a custom maker would do, where there is no unnecessary material removed from the blade. For years I've had trouble finding a knife that wasn't missing steel the equivalent of ...

Neat!
I'm amazed every time I go to the beach (usually once or twice a week) that I have a knife I can wear in the water and have zero issues with rust. I love my Salt 2 and could never have imagined it 20 years ago.

Just got mine.
It's amazing. Very efficient design - lots of blade for the handle length, brutish supported tip, wide flat blade that is nice and thin behind the edge (not super thin, thinner than most edges on a blade this size). I love the smooth but chalky and grippy G10. It's the leaf shaped ...

Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
Anyone else excited about the grey handled Cruwear lightweight Temperence?
At 4.5oz I can't wait to try one. I love that the not-quite-stainless steel is enclosed inside of the handle so my caustic sweat won't make it rust.

Re: Salt steels for pool/chlorinated water.?
I've enjoyed my LC200N Salt 2 Wharncliffe and UKPK so much that I'm hesitant to try anything new. Hot tubs, swimming pools, the ocean for a few years and I have yet to see a speck of rust on either.
I'd love to know how Magnacut does in the same environment, all of my Magnacut knives have so ...

Just got a pair of these, quality is incredible. Everything about them is perfect, incredible quality when there are hundreds of things that can go wrong with a knife like this.
