For AR optics you've got sound advice above. I'll also comment and say try them out if possible.
I love my 2 aimponts, but I have about a dozen primary arms red dots in various flavors too. They take a beating and just keep on running for a fifth of the cost of an aimpoint. The md25 series are my ...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought
The BG2.0 is about perfect and certainly outshoots and out classes the rest of the 380 pocket pistols.
It truly handles like a full size gun, and its so far beyond the original bodyguard 1.0 is not even close.
Mines been with me allot this summer as it's a great shorts and t shirt gun. Falls ...

Re: Fishing
Spent the weekend in Arkansas chasing trout but fishing was pretty lack luster with lots of heavy flow on the white river.
We've had crazy amounts of rain in this water basin. Last time I was at the ranch these were our roads... nothing like breaking in a week old truck lol

Re: What are people’s CCW?
In gym shorts I'll carry a S&W bodyguard 2.0 in a Kydex IWB holster. It's just a fantastic little pistol and shoots like a much larger gun.
In regular pants I'll carry either a HK45C with 8+1 in a CompTac CTAC IWB holster, or if I'm going somewhere I feel it warrants more capacity I'll carry a ...

Re: Favorite pocket gun?
If you haven't had a chance to try a bodyguard2.0 you should. At $350 there simply isn't another pocket pistol that shoots as easily as the 2.0.
S&W really hit it out of the park with this one. A huge improvement over the 1st gen, it's not even a fair comparison.

Re: Fishing
What's crazy is she'll only swim up if it's just me. If a friend or one of my kids is with me she keeps her distance. I do fish this pond everyday just about. I also typically wear a white or light colored fishing hoodie so I guess she's patterned me for a free meal.

Re: Fishing
Beautiful Brooks and brownies. I got a nice surprise today as a year or so ago I had a big snapping turtle start hanging out with me at my local pond I fish at pretty much every day.
She got to the point she'd watch me fish and one day I hooked a small bluegill really deep and it wasn't going to ...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought
Not a new gun per say, but had a 28 hour turn around time on my new YHM R9 suppressor. Finally got to finish out my MP5SD clone.
This one is just a fun gun SBR and with the Lee's Sporting lower and a super safety makes happy little brass rainbows and puts a smile on anyone's face who shoots it.

Been hammering those rainbows you have. It's starting to warm up and we're chasing them hard at night again...

If you've ever wanted to get into the AR game, and you should, then the time is now. I'd also look at Palmetto State Armory for best bang for your buck with ARs. A little splurging and budget stretch could get you into their JAKL platform as well.

Re: Everyone ready for the rut?
Hopefully all that time and money pays off! We just finished up trapping and took a bunch of yotes and a fox out of the rotation. Conservation department came and shot 20 or so hogs from their helicopter as well. It's warming up now and I'm looking forward to predator and hog control.

Re: Everyone ready for the rut?
I typically use a mule for quartering and skinning. Throw some dawn dish soap, followed up with some hand sanitizer, then a light coat of CLP when I'm done.
Glad that buck looks like he's gonna make it. They are very resilient animals.

Re: Fishing
Finished up an annual weekend trip to Arkansas with my fishing buddies. We put the hammer to them all weekend and caught hundreds of trout.
Now I'm a bit jaded and typically don't take pictures of a trout unless they are over the 2ft mark but this one was prettied up nice and just a bit shy of ...

Those are some good ones on camera. I gotta head down to fish the white river on Thursday through the weekend and a few of my buddies are gonna chase deer. Hope these dumb trout don't cost me a shot at a target buck

We rescued 3 feral sisters that were about 5 weeks old right at the start of covid... they are def a bit odd and wild, but they can be affectionate when they aren't being little turd heads. The runt finds me once a day for pets. Usually in my office when I'm on calls and she demands belly rubs. She ...

Well our double drop tine buck made it through both weekends of firearms season. He's back to staying nocturnal... going to try and find a way to lure him out.
