Re: Seconds sale 2022
Seconds showed up for me and for the Manix I'm also trying to figure out why it's a 2nd. Great value for sure and will be a nice back up to my G10.
Threw some paracord on the 2nds mule and going to see how brittle it really is and go cut and stuff up.

Re: How'd you wrap your mule handles with paracord? (pics welcome)
My factory seconds came in today so I did Yablanowitz method and then tight wrapped over it... so not super happy with it but the girth is right and it's a good fit in hand. Had trouble trying to tighten everything down.

Re: Seconds sale 2022
My spyderco app notified me about 40 minutes before sale started. It was also one of the only ways I could click on a working link to take me to the sale page

Re: Elastic Ceramic. Wow!
Can't wait for this one to come out. Have some cool handle ideas in wood and polymer. Looking at keeping them metal free for max waterproofness and super lightweight for when wade fishing and back packing

Re: Seconds sale 2022
Thank you to all at Spyderco for the chance at some seconds online. The great 2nds war of 2020 was what got me into my first few Spydercos and I'm slowly switching out all my others now. My trip to the factory store this summer sealed the deal, and now I'm a fan boy lol. I managed to get a Manix and...

Re: Has Anyone Used a Spyderco Folder for Field Dressing?
My oldest daughter used her Native to quarter out her doe with me that she took yesterday morning.
Super sharp combo edge made short work of it. The scales took a bit to get the gunk out though

Re: Has Anyone Used a Spyderco Folder for Field Dressing?
I unzipped a doe with my Manix 2 field dressing on Sunday of opening weekend and a buddy took the back straps out of the hog from Saturday which they cooked up already.

Re: Fishing
Love the colors on that brownie. Nice tying skills as well. I learned in much better suited to fishing than tying... I can do it, but it ain't pretty and it's the opposite of relaxing and rewarding for me lol
Re: Fishing
Very nice LMB. Def looks like hammer in first pic, but 2nd pic that's a bonnethead. A cool catch indeed though.

Re: Fishing
Since this is a knife forum, there has been much talk of late about increasing knife prices. I have enough knives to where a stop on purchasing knives is not a crisis. In the broader scheme of things the staggering price increase in gas and groceries boggles the mind. I fear I will become less of a...
Re: Fishing
I have been meaning to try some night trout fishing but just never got to it last year but I hope to make it this fall. I use furled leaders for everything from dries to streamers and they changed everything for me, I don't think I could ever go back to those awful tapered nylon leaders now lol [/qu...
Re: Fishing
Yessir, stripping streamers and wooly buggers at night is a big staple if I'm using the fly rod. I use a 5wt at night though and 10lb test braid as a leader. Have some bigger sculpin and more patterns too. I strip wooly buggers on our creaks and streams for bass and gills too. I too like a med fast ...
Re: Fishing
These are a couple of my most successful nymph patterns that I tie and use. They're both variations of old classics but show me a modern fly that isn't. These are a Pheasant tail variant that I call a Crotch Duster and it's the first fly I ever tied that I didn't follow a pattern for. https://i.img...
Re: Fishing
That's a beautiful brownie. I enjoy fly fishing and spin fishing both as they're both great skills to have. I will quite often carry both rods on me at night as we'll cover miles of steam sometimes at night hunting brownies. My biggest came on my jerk bait rod though slinging a hand painted jerk bai...

Re: 2022 P.I.T.S Sprint!
Well it definitely laid down a cool looking pattern. I've messed with some electro etching, but haven't got into self anodizing... Nice work though.
