Re: My Folding Mule Project

Excellent! May I ask how you made the complex and intricate shapes in the very hard steel of the tang? What tools can do this? Any can technically. Most of us use CBN/MCD coated tool bits but even a softer steel would still abrade it eventually. SiC (very hard also) isn't used often but is very goo...

Re: My Folding Mule Project

And ya no sorry people who are afraid of guns there is.. a legitimate fear I'm well aware of that one although I will never understand it myself, but it's still just an excuse at the end of the day. Fear is temporary unfortunately in war which isn't good. Same applies to life IMO. I suppose that I c...

Re: My Folding Mule Project

This is my first time using a shouldered stop pin and it basically dictates everything when it comes to spacing between the scales (washer/blade stack, pivot bushing, backspacer). It’s kind of a pain in the ***, but hopefully it is worth it. I remember at some point reading a comment by Sal about t...

Re: My Folding Mule Project

I was wondering what exactly you were doing with the lock there the first few pictures made me think of some.. thing else what exactly I'm not sure something with two locking points, I usually take mine to the handle because I'm too lazy to inlay it. It's really not difficult to make folders in mass...

Re: My Folding Mule Project

Well I can't say that I was there for every step but I think you can change the signature to intermediate maker of folding knives hahaha. Very nice job man πŸ‘, I want to start doing more of these types and with this post I may just try a flipper!. I haven't had the balls to yet.

Has any one seen the guy battoning a mule it is lmpressive check it out on utube If you are talking about isitaknife... I made it 13 sec into it. Anyone can figure out how to angle a camera so his nut sack is not featured in the video. For me it indicates dudes brain damaged. Gratuitous content ale...

Re: My Folding Mule Project

Very nice πŸ‘ I'd look at some cheap Chinese CNCs - that's what I have but never use for these purposes. It's about 600$ with upgraded motors and software, but totally worth it if you do this stuff a lot which I don't. I started the same way. Not a bad idea, but I actually enjoy doing this kind of ha...

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

Totally understand that man I really do. I commend you on it and never said stop. With what I know from testing you're right I can get it to exceed z-max @69Rc on CATRA testing but that's actually at 20-22 DPS vs 17.5 (stockish) with my own testing and if you factor how Larrin tests into it, it woul...

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

Normally I use a 1k super vit for testing. However I know very few ppl have that stone so I will be switching up to the spyderco cbn benchstone and recording the times. I'm still deciding on specifics so I have the ability and agility to adjust accordingly. On my sanding roll I got 220 cuts today. ...

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

About that one - I've tried to think up something that would work like that but unfortunately my brain is too toast to do so. Uhhm. The harder it is the.. more it's going to be noticable. The best my brain can do at this moment would be some polymer the softer the better. Rubber maybe although there...

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

Steel, you gotta know that I love ya brother. Without getting too complicated to bore you and everyone else here, the way that me and you test steel (loose standing paper towel slice test) needs to change for ceramics because of friction. That's the main thing there. I know you are going to try the ...

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

You don't have to like me. Unlike the rest of the internet I'm not going to care. There's a block feature on PHP for a reason and yes I'm sorry but I do have a brain that works rather quicker than most people's. What that means about what I know however is.. totally different I don't personally beli...

https://vimeo.com/939629750?share=copy You cannot expect that to cut a paper towel. The edge beyond what sem imaging can do matters it's the material Jesus Christ guys please figure this out so I don't have to write half a book on the differences between metals and ceramics. Re: Mule care for dummies

Don't recall Spyderco doing a rex 86/z-max blade. Probably for this exact reasoning plus it is an utter pain in the *** to work with. Mule Number 29 MT29 - Steel: Z-Max PM | Released Jun 2021 | Quantity: Approximately 550 MT30 - Steel: Z-Wear PM | Released Aug 2021 | Quantity: Approximately 500 Sam...

Id really like to do some real life research on tribocorrosion resistance instead of the typical scientific tests that.. I'm not in the city but I'm not in the country either, so, basically all of the adsorption type fails I would have to actually try to make happen with.. let's be real, as pure as ...

Re: Anyone else talk crap about how many Mules they were going to buy? And then life caught up...

Thanks for posting up guys. Lots to think about. Too much to read, HA! Gotta say, I like the feeling of going fast as much as the reality of going fast. Go-carts for example, when you are low to the ground it feels faster than the same speed sitting up high in a semi truck. Anyway, all of my worst ...
