Re: CPM 20CV Thread

I have it on several knives and absolutely love it. Nothing bad to say. I have found that keeping it touched up is easier than having to sharpen it. So I hit the brown/white rods on the sharpmaker a few times when needed and its good to go. Excellent steel💪 To maintain the factory edge what angle a...

Sorry I’ve never owned one of those
Does the stock lanyard tube fit into titanium scales, or do I need aftermarket? I know the OEM lanyard tube can be a tad difficult to remove from G10 but once it's out can it be used in titanium scales and removed easily for cleaning etc.

Re: Shipping of internal parts

Sal, please for current production knives relpacment wearable parts should be available. Those with relics expect to not be able to get parts. But when we buy a $250 knife and need a pivot, etc. And the knife is left out of service it encourages some (including myself) to rethink purchasing Spyderco...

Re: Shipping of internal parts

The lack of ability to order replacement parts (i.e. OEM hardware, lost screws) is discouraging. I'd definitley pay for the ability to purchse replacement and spare parts for my Spyderco knives. As far as counterfeit knives being outfitted with real hardware could be an issue but I doubt counterfitt...

The lanyard plug isn’t pressfit like the tube. It just sits in the holes.
Oh nice! Are the aftermarket (flytanium) lanyard tubes like that too?

It is if you get a lanyard plug instead of a tube
So do i need a tool to remove the original tube to replace with a plug? I'm trying to avoid that.

Lanyard tube Para 3 (Aftermarket easier?)

I've been looking into titanium hardware for the Para 3 and was wondering...Once I get the factory lanyard tube out is it easier to assemble/disasemble the knife with a titanium lanyard tube in place?

I figured there would be a new generation of the Para 2 and that's why they never bothered. Why invest development into a model that's getting discontinued?
Discontinued. Man I must be behind on the times, didn't know this

Why hasn't the PM2 gotten the floating stop pin?

The Military and the PM3 get the floating stop pin, but the PM2 stays with the screw in style? Why is this?

Yeah i'd like to hear from anyone who has both steels and their opinion on it's difficulty. So far the replies have been great

Re: Paramilitary 2 (20CV or S45VN)

The only thing that even has me compaing is some folks saying 20CV is brittle and chips easily. I don't use my knives as pry bars but that one aspect "toughness" has me a tad bit concerned. Upon further reading people seem to praise Spyderco's heat treat on their 20CV knives unlike ZT's 20...

Why no Para 3's coming out? Are there literally no P3's coming this year?

Paramilitary 2 (20CV or S45VN)

So if you had to choose only one PM2 (assuming you have no other Paramilitary 2's) Would you get a S45VN OR a Sprint in 20CV? I've read the typical charts comparing the steels. But I wanted some opinions on actual users of both of these blade steels and the benefit and drawbacks of going with the 20...

Re: Para 2 as EDDC

The Paramilitary 2 or even the Para 3 with it's fine tip can easily slash an assailants throat very quickly. The tip of the Para 3 and PAra 2 is like a razor blade. And we've all seen the sheer destruction a simple razor blade can do to an attacker. DLC should be a given, because you likely don't wa...

Not sure why the Cold Steel Tuff-Lite hasn't been mentioned. It is smaller than the Yo2...but when you look at actual edge length it is very comparable. And it retains an aggressive cutting ability without looking scary

It's strange that when I finesse the opening ... Open her slowly she closes like butter (like double drop close) with purrrfect detent. But when I snap her open like a madman she acts up. Maybe she likes being handled with care

Re: New Para 3 lock "catching"...

Confession: When this "lock stick" started happening I tried to resolve it and like an idiot I loosened up the pivot a bit and then there was blade play... I tightened it back up "snug" and no more blade play But did I mess up the locktite they put on it (if they did) I don't wan...
