Re: Dragonfly steels… and other things

In other news, I’m back to being stuck in the internal conflict of trying to decide between the Police and the Endura now. I think I’m sure about it being serrated and in K390. But still stuck. Hey, Caz. That's a big problem. If you figure out the answer, let me know and I'll go out and buy one, to...

Re: Cruwear/Smooth G10 Yojimbo Knifecenter exclusive

Got to say, as someone who is a perpetual worrier, I do not feel in the slightest worried about the smooth G-10. It is the ergonomics of the grip that locks it into your hand, no worries. I really like mine - it is even better and smoother than my other Yojimbo, the DLC tan 20CV. Here's the thing th...

Re: How many knives do you normally carry on you?

If I have a 4" Spyderco blade like the Police 4 K390 (serrated), Yojumbo, Military, or the Native Chief, I will generally carry a little less, so it'll be say, just the Police 4 and a SAK (usually 91mm, 3-5 layers). If I expect I will be going somewhere nicer, perhaps I will choose a more gentl...

Re: I hate my pocket knife.

I can relate to the feeling of loving the D-fly... mine was a K390 Wharncliffe model, couldn't keep it out of my pocket for a long time after getting it and want to put the blade into a SAK, now, I love it so much. Favorite small Spyderco along with the Cricket. Have never owned a Salt knife, though.

Re: Vehicle knife

Honestly, I would choose a reverse-S Spyderco with a serrated edge. Isn't this just about one of the perfect purposes for those kinds of knives? Something like a Matriarch 2, or a Dodo, or even a Cricket, but the Dodo and Ma2 would be a lot better on the SD aspect that you mentioned. I have one of t...

Re: Do you usually introduce your partner to carrying a knife at all times?

Yes, I gave her the first quality knife my woman owns in the form of the mint Sage 5 LW in M4, very good EDC knife, she loves it. She also carries a Victorinox Recruit, and an Opinel no. 7 for foods and such. She has developed her own tastes and such, while not changing her EDC much (she carries my ...

Re: Did CruWear Make S35vn Obsolete?

Errrr, stainlessness? But, at least in my experience, with my Cruwear PM2, that steel is pretty close to "stainless", as in, I have never pushed the limits, but have never experienced any even minor, minor spotting like I have with Rex 45, M4, and K390 (all steels I will gladly pocket even...

I love my K390 Wharncliffe Dragonfly. This would be great for folks who want the same thing but cannot have a lock on their knife.

Spyderco knives that you have gifted - any extra info welcome. To whom, why, and how did it hold up?

Whether you gave a Military to your deployed son, or a Matriarch 2 to your female friend in South Africa, I want to hear about the Spydercos you have gifted and given away to people in your life for whatever reason. My fiance needed a quality work-knife, and the M4 Sage 5 was a thing... I thought ri...

Yeah, I've learned to buy doubles of certain things (Purple Opinel, donut SAK) because my fiance will appropriate them as needed :)

I bought her a Sage 5 M4 and she loves it!

Re: "As close to perfection as possible" folder from Spyderco?

From what I have, the Sage 5 Mint M4 is the most perfect comp lock I have, I bought one for me, my fiance EDC's one. It lasted exactly five months to the day of daily use before a touch-up was needed. I must ask, what was being cut daily for 5 months and then in turn, only needing a touch up? M4 is...

Reverse-S Paramilitary 2 (hopefully Millie 2) - who has seen it? What is the plan with it?

I have been wanting, since before I even knew of the Millie 2, a comp-locked Military and Civilian, but really, any reverse-S knife on a compression lock would please me greatly. I know for a fact that a reverse-S Paramilitary 2 exists, and I am very curious about this, if anyone who has seen it has...

Re: Improvements to the Matriarch 2/3? + The reverse-S PM2/Millie2 exists, will we ever see it?!

i've been asking for a black, waved matriarch 2 salt for a few years now. it makes so much sense to me, that i am really confused why the request has been ignored completely. the toughness of h1 would be perfect for such a fragile tip and it would make the knife impervious to rust, which would allo...

Re: Improvements to the Matriarch 2/3? + The reverse-S PM2/Millie2 exists, will we ever see it?!

Also, please wave the Civvie! That is the only thing, and lack of ability for a ring, preventing me from carrying it (and my version is a vintage linerless ATS-55, but I'd have bought a new one!). The Black Talon II is unfortunately the more realistic alternative until those problems get fixed - I ...

Re: Dedicated box cutter knife?

I love the Spyderco Cricket - so much that I would totally buy a Cricket handle with thin, tiny, reverse-S "razors". This would be perfect - no expensive big folder with liners - just a little cricket in stainless or something.

Ohhhh, I would love a reverse-S little razor for utility!

Re: Dedicated box cutter knife?

If you’re interested enough to contact a custom maker, you might be able to save few bucks by purchasing one of the Mickey Yurco customized Delica, Endela, or Endura wharncliffes and just having the blade ground as thin as possible. The knives already have a blade shape reminiscent of a utility bla...

I would love an XL of the Striderco. It masquerades as a large knife.
