Re: Knife recommendation- gift EDC

If you want to save a few bucks (well, more than a few), Knifejoy has a number of their Delicas, Enduras, and Endelas on sale at the moment. :cheap-sunglasses

Re: Hawkbill Grail

Yea, an FRN version would be easier on the wallet. I intend to carry and use my new Superhawk, but it was not cheap on the secondary.

I hear ya, Sir!

I admit to feeling a strong "tug" by the Superhawk to be returned to carry status -- any hypothetical "collectability" be hanged! :thinking ...

Re: Hawkbill Grail

Some years ago, the Superhawk was my defensive EDC of choice. Tragedy struck when it fell through a hole in my sweatshirt pocket. I had it in my pocket because I was going to a medical center for physical therapy and I knew I'd have to strip down... Yeah, I know -- bad decision on the pocket carry ...

Re: Putting utility aside, what's the best looking Spyderco ever made ?

There's clearly no shortage of good-looking Spydercos! :cheap-sunglasses

Of stock Spydercos, I've always been partial to a couple, aesthetically speaking.

I like the simple, yet exotic and elegant lines of the Shabaria...

And I like the clean but ...

Re: What is your oldest (earliest) Spyderco ?

I'll guess these guys are my oldest...

Clearly, the Delica with the integral clip (far left) has gotta be my oldest. :thinking

I believe I got the Calypso Jr. next. The rest of the oldies, in no particular order (because I can't recall) are the Massad Ayoob, Shabaria, and Mouse (v.1).

Spydercos ...

Re: Low End Spyderco Knives

I have three Spydercos from the Taichung plant -- the Techno 1, Perrin PPT, and Sage 1... And absolutely no complaints about the quality of any of them. :cheap-sunglasses

I'd like to add a Canis to that part of my collection. :smlling-eyes

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

It WAS in the mail... I got a Delica from KnifeJoy today with the Wharncliffe CV20 blade and navy blue FRN scales.

Call me "easy to please," but just looking at it, it feels a bit like a "gentleman's folder" -- just something subdued and pleasing to the eyes about it. The juxtaposition of the ...

Re: Spyderco's Much Overlooked Models

For me, one model that never got the love it should have was the Scorpius. I bought two of them around 2003, one plain edge and one serrated. They were slim and solid knives and I love anything with a swedge. The grip was extremely positive for a SS handle and the short blade had ample belly.
The ...
