Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..

I love that! Could you post up how you got the fade so smooth, if you have time one day? To get a good fade effect, decide where you want the fade to begin on the scale, then dip the scales up to that point and immediately pull them back out and rinse with running water. Then dip again, slightly le...

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..

Went for a sunset gradient on the Caribbean. Turned out pretty well I think. Used racing red and royal purple Rit Dye More. Took color extremely fast- literally about a minute for each color.

Re: Pacific Salt talk

So I just received a Pacific Salt 1 today, brand new, ordered directly from Spyderco. IMG_4108.jpg As far as I was aware, all the Pac Salt 1s were long discontinued and no longer being sold?? Before I ordered, I called the Spyderco store to make sure the listing was accurate but interestingly, they ...

Re: Mini Caribbean?

Well, yeah, that's kinda the point of the question. The knife laws here are basically non-existent. And I never flail my knife around in a crude way, in fact I'm not even sure how the guy noticed it. I guess some people are just more sensitive to some things.

Mini Caribbean?

Caribbeans came back in stock, finally. I hesitated to get one a while back so I had to wait until now, but that's fine because now they have the CQI improvements. Been using it a few weeks now and I must say, this is a phenomenal knife- fit, finish, feel, steel, everything blew me away when I got m...

Re: A knife designed by the forum

What would really be cool is if Spyderco did a thing where we could "design" our own knives where we could select any platform we want, any scale color, any pocket clip, any steel, satin or DLC, coated or non-coated hardware, etc. It'd be really hard to pull of though.

Re: Black coating came out after 1st wash and never came back

IMO, knives are supposed to be used and accumulate wear, scratches, and battle scars. It's not going to stay perfect forever unless you don't use it. Personally I think rugged knives like the PM2 look better when they've got some wear. It always stings when you use your brand-new high-dollar knife f...

Re: Salt 2- Anyone else notice this?

Fact check true. Just tried all my other lock backs and yep, they all do it to some extent. After all this time, I've never noticed it. I guess, as Wartstein mentioned, these just happen to be a bit more "clicky"

Salt 2- Anyone else notice this?

I have 2 Salt 2's in LC200N and in both of them there is a slight "click" when I press down with the blade when cutting heavier things. It takes about a pound or so of pressure for it to "click" and it feels similar to pressing the home button on an iPhone, but more pronounced. W...

Re: MagnaCut Corrosion Resistance testing thread

Thanks, Lance! When word started getting around about MagnaCut and its well-rounded properties, there was some mention (but little testing) of its corrosion resistance. These are the sort of results I was hoping to see. So far it's lookin' like a great salt water steel. Looking forward to seeing the...

Re: We don't actually need to Magnacut *all* the knives

Frankly, my experience with my Magnacut Mule so far makes me think we don't need to Magnacut any of them, much less all of them. For something supposedly "tough" it sure chips easily, at least in my work environment. Out of curiosity, what is your work environment? So far, I've had pretty...

Re: Your Magna Cut Mule performance.

My MagnaMule just showed up. Mine was also not super sharp out of the box- had to give it a touch-up. Using my Sharpmaker, I was able to put a razor edge on it with very little effort (about the same as LC200N). Plan on using it for all the food preparation tonight.

Re: Mule email

Mine went to my junk email, so I’d check there for it. Interestingly, as a few others have reported, the pending charge has gone away from my bank account. A little concerning. Hi, Salter: Pre-authorizations on credit cards do roll off, but we can (and will) still be able to capture the charge once...

Re: Who got a Maggie mule? (Magna Cut)

I jizzed my pants when my order went thru. Can't wait to cut up fish with it and see how resistant to rusting it is. I'm right there with you. I experienced the same thing everyone else did: almost an hour of "DECLINED" messages when trying to process payment and page timeout after page t...
