I would absolutely love to see a Magnacut Aqua Salt (and more fixed blade salt knives in general). A bit disappointing that so many have been discontinued.

To get a good fade effect, decide where you want the fade to begin on the scale, then dip the scales up to that point and immediately pull them back out and rinse with running water. Then dip again ...

Went for a sunset gradient on the Caribbean. Turned out pretty well I think. Used racing red and royal purple Rit Dye More. Took color extremely fast- literally about a minute for each color.

So I just received a Pacific Salt 1 today, brand new, ordered directly from Spyderco.

Well, yeah, that's kinda the point of the question. The knife laws here are basically non-existent. And I never flail my knife around in a crude way, in fact I'm not even sure how the guy noticed it. I guess some people are just more sensitive to some things.

What would really be cool is if Spyderco did a thing where we could "design" our own knives where we could select any platform we want, any scale color, any pocket clip, any steel, satin or DLC, coated or non-coated hardware, etc. It'd be really hard to pull of though.

IMO, knives are supposed to be used and accumulate wear, scratches, and battle scars. It's not going to stay perfect forever unless you don't use it. Personally I think rugged knives like the PM2 look better when they've got some wear. It always stings when you use your brand-new high-dollar knife ...

Fact check true. Just tried all my other lock backs and yep, they all do it to some extent. After all this time, I've never noticed it. I guess, as Wartstein mentioned, these just happen to be a bit more "clicky"

Frankly, my experience with my Magnacut Mule so far makes me think we don't need to Magnacut any of them, much less all of them. For something supposedly "tough" it sure chips easily, at least in my work environment.

My MagnaMule just showed up. Mine was also not super sharp out of the box- had to give it a touch-up. Using my Sharpmaker, I was able to put a razor edge on it with very little effort (about the same as LC200N). Plan on using it for all the food preparation tonight.
