Re: Custom handle Mule team Mt38

This looks amazing. The turquoise resin complements the lighter color of the olive wood very well, I think.

Re: lil Temperance LW parts

Nice, that saves me from buying a new battery for my digital calipers to measure mine. :smirk Sites like Etsy carry spacers as well, though some of those vendors are likely drop-shipping from AliExpress. If all else fails, McMaster-Carr.

Good to see you here, Gabe! I got a Spyderco UF bench stone and plan to pick up a coarse grit diamond plate, inspired by your channel.

Re: K390 Lil' Temperance3 Lightweight In Stk

This might have the most comfortable grip of any pocket knife I've owned. A Delica feels shrimpy in comparison, although they're about the same length overall. Looking forward to testing with some carving and cutting. I think most XL-XXL handed people are going to be able to get 4 fingers on the gri...

Re: Boltaron sheaths and Paracord

Just tried a paracord wrapped mule in the factory Boltaron sheath and it retains fine. *Possibly not quite as well as with the scales, but if I shake it upside down the knife doesn't fall out. The molding of the sheath indexes on the quillion/ricasso/guard just behind the sharpened portion of the bl...

Re: Alternative sheaths for MT

Cross-posting since this is the thread that got me thinking about a new sheath. The JRE Industries Model E leather sheath fits snugly out of the box with the Halpern 3D contoured scales. It doesn't fit well with wider aftermarket scales like the Elijah Sonntag Designs 3D printed scales. Those are 17...

Re: scales and sheaths

Since I’m a lefty I have been looking around for a leather sheath . I contacted JRE they suggested the E model. Has anyone tried it on a Mule ? DLT has them available . Re: Get me excited about M398

This will be my first steel far up in the high wear, lower toughness corner of the chart. I think of vg10 as a bit chip prone under abuse and M398 will be less tough than that. But the edge should last more than half again as long by Larrin's CATRA tests. Should be more stain resistant too. Curious ...

Re: Thinner blade question

It definitely won't be as comfortable for thumb placement, you can already feel this when using thinner knives like the Centofante 3 or Chaparral. Glad to see this mentioned, I don't see it referenced often. I apply thumb pressure to the spine of a knife for more forceful, or more controlled, cuts....

Re: Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight Video "Reveal"

Spyderco can sell me big-handle, 2-3" blade, compression lock knives all day. The Para 3 and Sage 5 lightweights are so good that I'd probably pick one of these up in VG-10, especially if it keeps the price down. I'd also be interested in any sprint runs later as Bolster said.
