Re: Police XL Talk

Sal posted this over in the delivered and upcoming discussion. I seem to have confused the formatting but here you go.

Re: Police XL Talk

So , is the Police XL for real as an upcoming future knife or just on a wish list ? I don’t recall seeing anything about this knife formally from Spyderco ? MG2

Pretty sure this is a real thing. Sal may have had a
4.5” or a 5” the one day I saw him at the SFO. I know he has samples. He was ...

If there is interest in a Native 5 Sprint, but with the "Dagger" style hollow grind blade, that would be more possible than re-creating the original.

I had an old Native and really liked that grind - especially the rather strong, but also "piercy" tip.

What would be supercool: A ...

I’ve been mulling this over for a few days now, and while it’s tough to pick a favorite, the Byrd Gooney puts the biggest smile on my face. 😁

Since Gooney Birds live on the ocean, any chance we’ll see a salt model with the Gooney blade shape? I would definitely rock one of those at work. 🙂

Re: 6" Mule discussion.

I would love one of these, particularly with the slightly larger handle. I’d vote for LC200n but I’m probably the only one. Magnacut seems like a sure winner. Or Spy27. I’d buy anything in a not too fragile stainless.

I am even more excited about the machete but that’s a different conversation. 🙂

Re: Love for the little guys

The Subway Bowie is fantastic. I love it (partially for the size and partially for the rustproofness) but it is smaller than you think! I had to put a lanyard on mine or it didn’t really work for me. With a good lanyard giving me a solid 4 finger grip I find it to be excellent.

My all-time favorite ...

Spyderco 2026 Delivered and Upcoming

Hats off to Ramzar and Buddafucco for their amazing work these past years! Y’all are awesome!

In the absence of anyone wanting to pick up the torch and run with it, I’d like to propose a collaborative thread this year. We all know how to make this work. 🙂

Edit: See post #15 for the list! Thanks ...

I’m hoping we’ll see the full range of Golden-made salts!

I’d buy a Spy27 also though.

Re: Just purchased a rare Matriarch

Linerless, you say? I wonder if we can get a salty sprint run in H2 if the molds are still around? 😁

I found a First Generation Matriarch with the Grey handle and ATS-55 blade. It’s NIB, and today I’m carrying it with my other Matriarch with the black handle.

I own a few current generation ...

The thread asks for more fixed blades, but the conversation is more about sheaths and G-clips.

Are there any fixed blade requests?

A successor to the Aqua Salt, in LC200N or Magnacut. Something that fills the same niche:
4-5 inch blade
Light but tough
Good all-purpose shape
Corrosion ...

This whole conversation is amazing!

I’d prefer LC200N, H1, and Magnacut in that order - I’d be stoked about anything salt-worthy. I’d love a blacked out option also but I’d buy a couple either way.

Re: H2 performance for fishing

As someone who did need a marlinspike for several years of my professional career, a stand-alone one is definitely my preference. The folding ones just aren’t robust enough.

If you want to get really nerdy there’s a guy in Port Townsend who makes titanium spikes. 😁

I think I drifted off topic a ...
