Re: Endura Salt?
I personally think it would be a bit redundant for Spyderco to make a Endura Salt considering the Pacific Salt is basically the same knife except for slight blade shape differences. I voted Endela by the way but, I think the Rock Jumper would be a better choice for a knife in this size range to giv...

Re: List Your Dream Spyderco
Inspired by Toucan's non-euclidean dream, I'll contribute a Ladybug Salt with Reverse S blade. A Lil'Lil'Matriarch.
I'd also like a run of the Waterway and Siren in Magnacut.
Yes I have a knife problem, but it's a good problem to have.

Endura Salt?
Would you buy an "Endura Salt" with the linerless scales and hardware of the Pacific Salt 2 and the blade shape of the regular Endura, in LC200N or Magnacut? What about an Endela Salt or Delica Salt with the regular blade shape? This question is in no way a knock on the Pacific Salt. I lov...

Re: EDC steel advice
The Native 5 Salt was my first folding Spyderco and I carried it daily for almost three years. It's a great knife, very sturdy, and I love the overall shape. I'm less a fan of choils than I used to be, and so I usually carry the Salt 2 these days rather than the Native. The best advice I can give yo...

I found Spyderco via the Aqua Salt, and their commitment to making salt-water friendly knives is what keeps me here.

Re: Quick Endura Praise
It's funny, I bought several "newer/fancier" Spydercos during the pandemic (stressful office job + no social life = therapeutic knife purchasing), but the Endura/Pacific Salt has become by far my most-used and most-carried knife, with the Delica/Salt a close second. They're just good. The ...

Has there ever been any talk of doing a run of s110v/blurple in the Seki line? I'd love an s110v Endura.

Re: Izula Equivalent
personally I think in a knife this size you don't gain anything going carbon over stainless. the vg10 perrins can stand up to batoning anything a 3.5" blade is big enough for. you lose corrosion resistance to gain toughness that won't likely ever come into play. Seconding this. I've batoned a ...

Re: Spyderco Chinese Chef Knife?
A Chef Salt, whether Chinese or a western chef knife, would be awesome. I love my 14c28n chef knives, and admittedly that's probably good enough, but I'd buy any kitchen knife that Spyderco made in a true salt model.

Re: Magnacut in Seki Salts
We're still refining the heat treat on MagnaCut. It's sensitive to different heat treatment. We'd like to get it down before exporting the steel. Eventually, assuming the market likes it, we'll move the steel all over. sal This is exciting news! I'm stoked for it to happen and happy to wait as long...

Re: How many knives do you normally carry on you?
At home I normally carry one, usually a Pacific Salt although my ladybug-flavored 20CV Endela and my Rockjumper are elbowing their way into the mix. When I work at sea I usually carry two users and have three little ones tucked away in case of emergency: Daily users: A Myerchin fixed blade rig knife...

Re: Hawkbill Caribbean
I love the Caribbean (it and the RockJumper are my two favorite handles) and this is a great idea, I just haven't figured out an efficient and practical way to close a compression lock with my left hand. If the Caribbean was a backlock it would be my most-carried knife. For now I'll put my vote in f...

Re: Spyderco knives that you have gifted - any extra info welcome. To whom, why, and how did it hold up?
A couple of years ago I was chatting with one of my good friends (who lives on the opposite coast from me) and she mentioned that she needed a pocketknife for work and (separately) how much she loved the look of damascus knives. I bought her one of the KnifeJoy steel blue damascus Delicas, and had i...

Re: Do we really need a finger choil ?
I can never decide if I like choils or not. My first Spyderco folder was a Native 5 Salt that I carried every day for nearly 3 years despite catching the Spyderco sickness and acquiring a lot more options. Then I picked up a Manbug one day and without thinking put my index finger in the choil. It we...

Re: Swick Thoughts (with pics)
Sal, That's awesome! What and where do you/have you sailed? I own a sloop myself these days and spent most of my professional career in square-rig, but I started on a 130' wooden schooner that needed the rig put back up after shipyard. We did a LOT of seizings and a Swick sure would have been handy ...
