Re: Charisma – Spyderco Design Production Sample 2024

The Spyderco Charisma was a new design that seemed to want to fly out of my lightbox. This was an impressively thin and lightweight folder. The cutting edge however, is almost as long as the edge found on a Paramilitary 2. The Charisma is thin and light enough to easily carry in a shirt pocket. I d...

Re: Cricket Lightweight

Hi Ugaarguy, I'm open to all of the possibilities and suggestions. I don't think we can make them all, at least not at once, but I'd like to get a Slipit out and a locker. Not a lot of room for locks, but I think it can be done. There are also a number of blade shapes that can be explored. The &quo...

Hi Christian_Samurai_Outlaw, Welcome to our forum and thank you for your service. Thanx Yab, for the pics. All of the future coins will be the size of the Happy Thoughts coin above. Each run of coins will reflect the date we expect them. We use up the older coins before the latest. Spyderco makes 3...

How about a Cricket slip joint? It's not like you're going to be stabbing with it.
I like that idea. :bug-red-white
Third! I’d love a slipit cricket!

It would be fun if these textures came back, even though I’m not a big frn fan. I don’t care for the modern bi directional pattern
I hope any new FRN Caly 3/3.5s have the fish scale texture. My favorite pattern.

Re: Price increases for 2024

You should use the street price of SpydieChef in October 2016 ($191.97) with added inflation to now which would make it $243.60 (+27%) but the current street price is $303.00 (+58%). I only calculated with MSRP because the MAP changed quite dramatically, and I suspect that’s not inflation related. ...

Re: Price increases for 2024

SpydieChef was $191.97 when it first came out in October 2016. At the time, MAP was 40% off MSRP of $319.95. Since then the MSRP has increased to $404.00 and with MAP being 25% off MSRP means the dealer price will be $303.00 tomorrow. Using an online inflation calculator to compare the value of 319...

I’ve always got a SAK or my favorite Case, the Russlock (aka a slip joint that opens like a friction folder and locks like a liner lock—an odd duck to be sure!)

My favorites. Left to right: compact, yeoman, companion (2023 ”Swiss Spirit” with swapped scales). I’ve found the new package opener tool to be really effective with cardboard, packing tape, and blister packs.

Re: Any interest in the return of models like the pingo?

I’ve always wished it came with a blue handle—I’d definitely buy a blue handled sprint. This 2016 Edge Matters forum exclusive in K390 did come with a blue handle, as well as a thumbstud you could install if you so desired (sacrilegious if you ask me!). I seem to recall that this was the first Spyd...

Re: Show your EDC

... How often do you use the Microtech? I often carry more than one knife, but haven't tried an Auto yet. I'm looking at an Ultratech to try them out, and wondering how practical they are for an EDC knife. Sorry, I just saw this after not logging in for a while. Recently, I carry the UTX70 probably...

Roadie—new blue hue?

I recently lost my old blue roadie. I got it shortly after they came out years ago. Just ordered a new one…and the blue is a much different hue! My original (and all the blue ones I have gifted to folks over the years) was a vibrant royal blue, and this one decidedly navy blue/dark blue. I have to s...

Re: Where's the SPY27?

i think all of the more popular knives have dedicated followers. most of us would probably like to try it in our favorites. for me, that's a manix, but it would be cool in other models as well. it might be nice to have it in something like the lil native slipit or ukpk so people in more restrictive...

Re: Happythoughts necklace pendant

Hi Mr,Gibson, Welcome to our forum. The first coin should be available in a couple of months. But it's not Spyderco, It's Happy Thoughts. sal I’m imagining something with the happy thoughts and the value totem on it?—which would be more my “style” than a pendant for a necklace. I’ll keep an eye out...

We're also beginning to make "coins" for Happy Thoughts.

Oh, this got my attention! I’d love to see what the coins look like!
