Re: Spyderco Pumpkin Carving Contest

Here is my first carving from this year - I like how it came out but I think I could've prepped a little more in the beginning to get a cleaner finish in the end. Either way, I ended up carving a second one after this. The first cut was made with a Lil Native LW but the rest of the carving was ...

Re: China

How can you say Spyderco Chinese knives are lower quality if you don’t buy them?

I understand the political stances in this thread. I cannot understand how any knife enthusiast in 2025 equates Chinese knife factories with low quality.

This. I’ve got a few knives and other goods made in China ...

I like the white g10 mantra 4. I don’t have any Chinese knives, but I’m going to get the Mantra 4.

It’s silhouette is very reminiscent of Eric’s Charisma.

Old Leafstorm Stripped Scale Screw - Spyderco Repair an option?

Hi everyone!

I’ve got a second hand Leafstorm. The prior owner dyed the scale black; I’m not sure if the scale was removed to be dyed or if the whole knife was submerged. I’m guessing just the scale.

Regardless, I was going to take it apart to give it a good cleaning inside but one of the three ...

When they decided to shorten the Urban’s blade I was quite let down but now I am happy again. This one is going to be a fierce competitor against my usual urban go to pocket folders. I hope Doc Dan is as excited as I am. Bring it on !

Umm no idea what the Lava knife is. I’ll look it up but maybe someone should submit a picture just to help.
I lost my blue g10 years ago, but it’s a fun knife and I’d love any flavor of sprint!

If someone has, or created, PDFs of the old catalogs maybe they could be hosted on spydiewiki.com?

Re: That Metropolitan is mine !

I might be wrong, but I think it has the SPY-DK handle, which is very similar to the Urban. @elena86 will probably remember for certain.

I don’t have either anymore, but the SPY-DK handle is definitely longer than the Urban but shorter than the UKPK. I actually preferred it (with the choil ...

Looks like some CQI on the meerkat scales? The last one I owned I recall being pinned, and only one pin plus the pivot (under the scale of course).

Almost bought a second hand seki city Starmate the other day. Glad I passed on it!

The Spy27 balance and dyad jr are definite buys.

And the LW Shaman is tempting!

Thank you for all the tips/suggestions/referrals.

I was motivated by a combination of the idea referenced from Michael Janich of using a drill bit, but because of the flattened area on the stop pin in the quoted piece.

I opened up the knife, rotated ...

Terzuola C19 Liner Lock “adjustment”

So I recently came across my old C19PS—which I thought I had lost in a move almost 20 years ago. Turns out it was just tucked away and forgotten in the move!

I haven’t carried this knife since at the latest 2000, and it’s got a fair amount of vertical movement when locked open. Normal wear and tear ...

Re: Show your EDC THEN and NOW edition

During some spring cleaning, and putting away some stuff, I came across a box full of nostalgia. Mostly pictures and ticket stubs and other mementos from my younger days.

But among all that was a pleasant surprise. The stuff I literally carried every day, having taken to heart my Dad’s advice to ...
